After a viral post made by his mom Nina Green, that shows her teenaged son primed and primped for prom, fervent disciples of the woke movement praised his flowing frock while others played the shame game, saying it demonstrates the “failure” of a parent “in encouraging this sort of thing.”When Korben White was only 12, he told his mother Nina Green “he wanted to go to his school prom in a gown.”In 2022, only four years after his declaration of intent, the teen–a “sassy” young drag queen who goes by the name Miss Frou Frou–made it happen.Speaking with the BBC, Green explains her son’s inspiration. “He wanted to go as himself, while expressing his feminine side–with a tuxedo on the top and a dress at the bottom, very much influenced by [American actor] Billy Porter.” She continued, “He wanted to be Korben…but in a dress.”And when he stepped out of the car in the sparkly red outfit paired with a white shirt and a giant red bow, Korben’s big reveal was applauded by both staff and students at Archbishop Sancroft High School in Harleston, Norfolk. “As soon as he got out of the car, everyone just cheered and I was crying, some of the teachers were crying, because he was being who he wanted to be,” the proud mom said of Korben.

“Everyone has been very supportive, and his year group has been incredible. If you let your child be who they are then you’ll get nothing but the best out of them. ”Her son’s biggest champion, Green continued her massive show of support with a tweet on July 1.Paired with a few photos of Korben in the spectacular outfit, Green writes, “At age 12 my son announced he wanted to go to his school prom in a gown. Four years later we made it happen. I’m so incredibly proud of him for being true to himself & the reception he got from his whole school was incredible.”Her post gained a lot of momentum with millions of users around the world sharing commenting, and complimenting the handsome young man. It even reached Michelle Visage, a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race, who said, “You are an amazing beautiful mom and your child is a STAR.”

Korben said it was “very surreal” that his mother’s tweet captured the attention of Visage. “To me she is such an icon, a wonderful celebrity and I really admire her,” he said. Green wasn’t expecting that her show of support would “go crazy,” and said she only wanted to show her son “living his best life,” which made other parents look for her advice.

Meanwhile, the positivity was met a string of other comments, which serve as a reminder that not everyone is on the same social path. One writes, “There is very little hope for civilization,” and a second shares, “…Vile, Woke & a failure as a parent in encouraging this sort of thing. A 12 year old boy should be playing football and learning to be a man. But, sadly people now a days virtue signal, like what you’re doing with this tweet, and ruin their kids for life. Shame.

”Another netizen says the support for Green’s post is troubling. “There is absolutely nothing natural about a ‘boy’ dressing like a ‘girl’–the support shows just how screwed up our world is.” And one cyber fan goes so far as to suggests the world is lacking logic, “We live in a world where children should no longer pretend to be Indians but men should pretend to be women. Utopian. ”Yet, a steadfast warrior of support, Green wasn’t willing to surrender to the online hate.

The day after the internet-exploding tweet, Green accompanied her son to London Pride and shared a sweet photo of the two. When Gerald McRaney met actress Delta Burke, he knew he wanted to ask her out. But he was also acutely aware of his competition because of so many men being interested in her.

He recalls the time he asked her out, saying, “I wasn’t going to let her get away. I already had competition. There were people asking her out on dates, and I was going to move in right away.”

It was an immediate connection and McRaney knew she was the girl for him. On their second date, he asked her to marry him. But it was two years later in 1989 that the couple made things official – they tied the knot on May 28.

While it was not as fast as McRaney would have wanted, he was happy that he had got the girl of his dreams!

While it was Burke’s first marriage, this was McRaney’s third time! But this time, he was determined to make it last.

While the couple was madly in love, there were some people who thought their marriage wasn’t a good idea. Namely, some of McRaney’s friends warned him against him. But he dismissed all those reasons every single time. He remembers saying, “Why not? They’re the only people who understand this insanity. And she does. If I’m on location, and I don’t call her until 2 o’clock in the morning, no big deal. She knows.”

Since both of them worked in the entertainment industry, they knew what each other dealt with. They could hence offer advice and help to one another about any issues they might encounter.

They are also one another’s biggest supporters when they achieve something. When McRaney won a Primetime Emmy award for his performance in “This Is Us,” Burke happened to be his biggest cheerleader. She stood in the audience, with tears in her eyes, cheering on her beloved husband.

McRaney said in his years as an actor, he has gotten a lot of feedback but Burke is who he takes seriously. If she tells him a performance is good or needs work; he knows shes being honest.

It was in 1998 that the foundation of their marriage was tested. Burke lost her grandmother, and soon after her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was also on a hiatus from her acting career after she had a falling out with her show producers on “Designing Women.”

Fans started to notice that the actress was gaining weight while she appeared on the show. It turned out she had been struggling with hypoglycemia which caused an increase in her weight.

She constantly battled with her weight. The ineffective treatment of hypoglycemia combined with dieting eventually caused type 2 diabetes. She had a hard time even getting a diagnosis, going from doctor to doctor. Burke recalls, “I was on the road a lot. I was tired. My body didn’t feel right. I knew something was wrong, but nobody could tell me what,” Burke said. “They said I had Epstein-Barr. I knew it was something else. Then one doctor did the right tests and told me I had diabetes.”

She was also caring for her mother at the time and giving little attention to her own needs. While she was taking medication for her condition, her doctor warned her to improve her diet or she would be needing insulin therapy.

After a long struggle, her mother finally recovered. Burke applauded her husband for how he stood by her and made sure she took her medication and always took care of her. In 2004, McRaney fought lung cancer successfully as well.

She uses insulin now and credits McRaney for helping take care of her, including helping out with insulin shots. She said, “He loved me when I got as big as a house… He has loved me through my up times and my down times. He still thinks my body looks great, and I can certifiably tell you it does not!”

The couple stays active and takes care of their health together. Burke reveals she is finally in a good place with her health!

Delta Burke currently has no plans of returning to acting. Her husband McRaney doesn’t think she will return to acting either but also added that he would love to have the opportunity to work with her again!

While McRaney does not intend on retiring, the couple has bought a home in central Florida and plan on moving there soon. They have no children together but spent their life raising McRaney’s three kids from a previous marriage.

Ahead of the major milestone, Burnett has been opening up about her incredible life and career — but in one recent interview, she opened up about a devastating loss that’s still always on her mind over 20 years later.

The iconic star had three daughters with her former husband, producer Joe Hamilton. The oldest was Carrie Hamilton, born in 1963.

Carrie followed in her famous mom’s footsteps as an actress. She had a major role on the TV series Fame, and played Maureen in the first national tour of the musical Rent. She also appeared in many TV shows, including The X-Files, Murder, She Wrote and thirtysomething.

But things weren’t always easy between the mother and daughter. Carrie struggled with drug addiction as a teenager, causing heartbreak for Burnett.

“My daughter Carrie got into drugs. In that situation, don’t be their best friend,” Burnett told AARP in 2020. “When we got her into a third rehab, oh, she hated my guts! You have to love them enough to let them hate you.”

“I thought … was there something I should have seen, something I should have known, something I would have spotted? You know, what did I miss? Was I not strong enough?” she told ABC News in 2002.

But Burnett told AARP that her daughter got sober by the time she was 18, and the two became closer than ever and “had a good 20 years” where they were “joined at the hip.”

Carrie’s career took off and her relationship with her mom was never better… until a personal tragedy struck: In 2001, Carrie was diagnosed with lung cancer that later spread to her brain.

But just like her mom, Carrie had a strong sense of humor which she used to get through the battle: “Carrie had a spirit about her, all through her treatments,” Burnett told ABC News.

Burnett was also moved by her daughter’s mantra: “In the hospital she said, ‘Every day I wake up and decide, today I’m going to love my life.’ And that was her mantra.”

Carrie died in 2002, at the age of 38. Burnett was devastated by the untimely death of her beloved daughter, but ultimately found the strength to keep going.

“You don’t get over it, but you cope,” she told People in 2018. “What else can you do? When Carrie died, I didn’t want to get out of bed for a while, but I had a play to finish that we started that Hal Prince was going to direct. I owed it to Carrie, and I owed it to Hal.”

‘Still with me’ 21 years later

In a new interview ahead of Burnett’s 90th birthday, she opened up about her daughter’s death over 20 years later, and says she still thinks about Carrie every day.

“There’s not a day or almost a moment goes by that she’s not with me,” Burnett told People Magazine this month. “We worked together, we laughed together, we cried together. She was a force.”

She says her daughter’s strong spirit during her sickness still serves as an inspiration to her.

“When she got sick, I remember she was in the hospital and I would go to see her every day,” Burnett recalled. “One day, a nurse at the hospital said, ‘Carrie cheers us up.’ I asked Carrie why she was always cheerful, and her reply was, ‘Everyday I wake up and decide.’ That’s the key word, decide.”

“I say that to myself every morning.”

Burnett turns 90 on April 26. Despite the heartbreaking loss she faced 21 years ago, she’s still going strong and has a positive attitude.

She has recently been the recipient of many lifetime achievement honors, including the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor and the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award. In 2019, the Golden Globes named their television lifetime achievement award after her, the “Carol Burnett Award,” and she was the first recipient. Last year, she returned to TV in a memorable guest role on Better Call Saul.

“I can’t wrap my head around it,” the legendary comedian told People about turning 90. “I still feel like I’m about 11, but I’m amazed. It sure went fast. But I’m glad because I’ve got all my parts — got my hips, I got my knees and I’ve got my brain, so I’m happy about that.”

After so many years, I don’t think there’s ever been a Rizzo as charming or easy to connect with as Stockard Channing.

Channing was a wonderful actor, and her singing in Grease was amazing. But now, at 80 years old, she looks very different, almost like a different person.

The first movie I ever saw Stockard Channing in was called “The Big Bus,” and I thought it was really funny. But back then, I never imagined she would have such an amazing career.

Today, Stockard Channing is most famous for playing Betty Rizzo in the movie “Grease,” which came out in 1978. It’s a popular American romantic comedy musical based on a stage musical from 1971. Many people agree that Channing did the best job of all the actresses who played Rizzo.

You might also know Channing from the TV show “The West Wing,” where she played Abbey Bartlet, the wife of the President. People loved her chemistry with Martin Sheen, who played the President.

“It just worked,” she said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly in 2020. “We had this chemistry right from the start. I’m not sure why, but it was there, and it never went away. It was a happy accident.”

Let’s dig deeper into the most important part of Stockard Channing’s career. Honestly, she hasn’t been in any big movies since “Grease,” even though she’s still acting in films and on Broadway.

Channing, who’s been nominated for 13 Emmy Awards and 7 Tony Awards, seems okay with being best known for playing the tough girl Rizzo in “Grease.”

But is that all there is to her story?

In 1973, she had a big role in a TV movie called “The Girl Most Likely to…,” which was a dark comedy about revenge. People were really into it at the time.

“A lot of folks talk about ‘Grease,’ but back then, just as many people would stop me on the street about that other movie. It was about revenge, and viewers at home would think, ‘Wow, someone gets me.’ It was a big hit,” she says.

Channing admits she’s only watched “Grease” twice.

“I used to be a bit grumpy about ‘Grease’ because I thought it was just for kids. But now, I think it’s pretty amazing. I’m really proud of it,” she told The Times in 2019.

Channing, who was born in Manhattan, was 33 when she played Rizzo, and playing a high schooler wasn’t easy for her.

“I was much older than Rizzo in real life, but I had to forget about that. I had to go back to how I felt when I was her age, or even younger. Dealing with all the complicated stuff teenagers go through, like hormones and figuring out who they are. Knowing I was older made Rizzo feel even more isolated,” Channing told Broadway World.

Channing always loved acting, so when she got the chance to play Rizzo, she was thrilled. Her performance made her really famous in the late 1970s. She even won a People’s Choice Award for Favorite Motion Picture Supporting Actress. But after “Grease,” it was hard for her to find the same success.

She tried to have her own TV shows, like “Stockard Channing in Just Friends” in 1979 and “The Stockard Channing Show” in 1980, but they didn’t do well, and her career slowed down.

But Channing didn’t give up. She kept acting, appearing in lots of movies and plays that people loved. Her most recent movie, “Angry Neighbors,” came out in 2022. With her beautiful looks and calm confidence, she kept going and proved herself as a talented actress.

In recent years, Channing has been involved in theater production in London, where she currently resides. She used to live in Maine with her partner of 25 years but moved to England in 2019.

“Living on my own here during the pandemic, I was sort of taking the ride with the rest of the country,” she told The Times.

In recent years, Channing has also received attention for her changing look. It all started in 2017 when Lorraine, a British breakfast television show, interviewed her.

Channing was invited to talk about her acting career and the characters she’s played, but many people were more interested in how she looked. They were surprised by how much she had changed, and there were lots of comments on Twitter and articles in magazines.

Some viewers were shocked and wondered if she had gotten plastic surgery. One person wrote, “Oh my god, what happened to Rizzo?” Another said they were “shocked” by her appearance on the show “Lorraine” and questioned why she had undergone surgery.

To me, Channing still has that same cool and sexy personality she had when she played Rizzo. In an interview with Out magazine in 2011, she joked about doing “everything I can” to stay in shape.

“When you reach a certain age, you often end up playing a lot of mothers. Maybe if I had kids, I’d feel differently, but I don’t like being seen as someone’s mom,” she laughed. “Maybe they watched a lot of ‘The Golden Girls.’ I’m grateful for anyone who grew up with ‘The Golden Girls,’ but times have changed, and I hope people see that.”
