A television presenter adorned with a traditional Māori face tattoo has gracefully responded to troll comments from a viewer, reaffirming pride in her cultural heritage and identity.

Facial tattoos often ignite debates online, with some individuals asserting that tattoos should be confined to the body, while others embrace the cultural significance behind them.

Oriini Kaipara, 41, a trailblazing TV presenter, made history when she joined New Zealand’s Newshub as a newsreader, becoming the first primetime TV news bulletin presenter with a moko kauae, a revered cultural marking worn by Māori women.

Māori, the indigenous Polynesian people of mainland New Zealand, regard moko kauae as profound symbols of heritage and identity. These facial tattoos, traditionally received on the lips and chins, symbolize a woman’s familial connections, leadership within her community, and honor her lineage, status, and capabilities.

However, amidst the accolades, one viewer, known as David, voiced his discontent with Kaipara’s moko kauae in an email to Newshub.

“We continue to object strongly to you using a Māori newsreader with a moku [moko] which is offensive and aggressive looking,” he wrote, per the Daily Mail. “A bad look. She also bursts into the Māori language which we do not understand. Stop it now.”

Undeterred by David’s disparaging remarks, Kaipara bravely addressed the issue head-on, sharing screenshots of the messages on her Instagram story and responding with grace and dignity.

“Today I had enough. I responded. I never do that. I broke my own code and hit the send button,” she wrote on an Instagram story accompanied by a screenshot of David’s message.

Kaipara also shared her email response to David, where she wrote that she was unable to take his complaint seriously “given there is no breach of broadcast standards.”

She also made a point of correcting his spelling of moko, as David had referred to hers as “moku”.

In her email, Kaipara continued: “I gather your complaints stem from a place of preference on how one must look on-screen according to you. Moko and people with them are not threatening nor do they deserve such discrimination, harassment and prejudice.

“We mean no harm or ill intent nor do we/I deserve to be treated with such disregard,” she continued. “Please refrain from complaining further, and restrain your cultural ignorance and bias for another lifetime, preferably in the 1800s.”

Despite David’s harsh criticism, Kaipara was quick to state that she mostly receives comments of praise, and that cruel trolls are few and far between.

In an interview with the New Zealand Herald shortly after she responded to David’s complaint, Kaipara spoke about how important it is to have more Māori advocates: “The fact that my existence triggers some people is testament to why we need more Māori advocates in key roles across every sector.”

HEARTWARMING: MAN COMFORTS FRIGHTENED 96-YEAR-OLD
When a 96-year-old woman expressed fear of flying, the “flight angel” sitting next to her offered a helping hand.

Megan Ashley, a passenger across the aisle, witnessed the incident and documented it on Facebook. She was flying from San Diego (SAN) to Nashville (BNA) on Southwest and noticed a 96-year-old woman who had not flown in 15 years.

The elderly lady asked to hold her seatmate’s hand during takeoff and hugged him tightly when the flight got a bit bumpy. The unidentified gentleman was gracious and magnanimous throughout the flight..and even after. Ashely described what he did:
This gentleman I should say, gladly took her hand, let her hold onto him, calmed her by talking to her and explaining everything that was happening, and simply was that stranger there for her. He knew just what to do the entire flight to help.

He helped her stand up to go to the restroom and watched her carefully walk down the aisle. It made me smile the whole flight as he comforted her. This man was her flight angel. He held her bag, helped her get off the plane and into the wheelchair, and when she got confused wondering where her daughter went (she called her her sister), he stayed with her until she caught up with her daughter who got separated from her.

What a beautiful gesture. I hope to have the opportunity one day to offer help in a similar way.
I’ve started the day off with two feel-good stories in part to show that not all news is bad news. For every drunk flight attendant or unruly passenger there are many stories of flight attendants and passengers who show compassion and love.

Whether one is a religious person or not, there are those occurrences and encounters that we experience in life which we know are part of something bigger.

To have faith in God means not to question the things that take place and the temptations that sometimes come along the way.

A man named Alfredo Lo Brutto from Italy shared a photo recently of a figure made in the sky which resembles the statue of Christ the Redeemer placed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This magnificent statue is 30 meters high and is one of the largest statues of Jesus as well as the tallest art deco statue in the world.

When Alfredo posted the enchanting photo which was taken over the Tyrrhenian sea, it somehow caused a stir. Some agree the figure is divine and a sign by God and others say it’s just the clouds and the sun penetrating through them.

It is not the first time people to have different opinions of photos that emerge online, and this time, there is a fair share of people on both sides.

“I was enchanted by the view. I don’t often share pictures on social media, but when I took this one, I instantly felt like I wanted other people to see it, because it was so beautiful,” Alfredo told Daily Mail.

Even if you don’t see Jesus here, what we all have to agree with is that this photo is special because it shows the beauty of the world that surrounds us.

Unfortunately, as we’ve seen time and time again, her celebrity and wealth turned out to be her undoing. However, Dannielynn, her daughter, continues to carry on her memory and legacy.

Vickie Lynn Hogan gave birth to Anna Nicole Smith in 1967. Her mother and aunt were mostly responsible for raising her as she grew up in Houston, Texas. When Anna was still a newborn, her father apparently made the decision to get up and leave.

Friends have spoken about Anna’s challenging upbringing and described it as quite challenging. Virgie, her mother, was very strict.

“Vickie’s childhood life was tough. [Her mother] was very… forthright and very strict,” longtime friend Jo McLemore told ABC News.

Anna, a high school dropout, fell in love with Billy Smith, a 16-year-old dropout. They got married fast, and Anna gave birth to her first child not long after. When Anna was just 18 years old, Daniel, her son, was born.

Sadly, the union with Billy wasn’t very long-lasting. Without a degree or a career, Anna Nicole became a single mother raising a son. She eventually found work as a dancer at a pub. The young, blond bombshell from Houston suddenly drew the attention of the powerful Playboy Magazine as a result of a series of events.
After working on multiple picture projects with Playboy, Anna Nicole rose to prominence in the modeling world.

She was signed by William Morris, one of the most praised talent agencies in the United States.

Modeling jobs poured in thereafter, and Anna Nicole appeared in advertising campaigns all over the world. She made huge headlines when she posed in lingerie for the Swedish clothing company H&M. In fact, that specific campaign caused quite a stir.People described Nicole Smith as a potential traffic hazard – drivers simply lost focus when they saw her pictures on billboards along the highways.

At the peak of her career, Anna Nicole Smith was one of the most recognized people globally, and the newspapers couldn’t get enough of her. For her part, Anna seemed to love the attention.

“I love the paparazzi. They take pictures, and I just smile away. I’ve always liked the attention. I didn’t get very much growing up, and I always wanted to be, you know, noticed,” she once told the Washington Post.

But of course, the life of a mega celebrity had its dark sides.

Her high-profile relationship with petroleum tycoon J. Howard Marshall was the beginning of her downfall. The 63-year-old age difference between Anna and her elderly husband raised many eyebrows – a lot of people were of the belief that Anna was only interested in Marshall because of his fortune.

The couple married in 1994, but just six months after the ceremony, Marshall became ill. He died in 1995 at the age of 90. The loss took a heavy toll on Anna.

”He knew me when I was nobody and that’s what people don’t understand, and I don’t wanna be called a gold digger because I’m not. In the following years, Anna spent a lot of her time in the courtroom. She fought with Marshall’s family over her husband’s will. The case went all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court in 2006.

Anna Nicole died of an overdose in 2007, but just a few months before that she had given birth to her daughter Dannielynn. Dannielynn was born in New Providence, the Bahamas and Anna announced her pregnancy in a video on her website.

Unfortunately, Anna would never see her daughter grow up.

In the wake of her famous mother’s death, Dannielynn quickly became one of the most talked-about children in the world. Her upbringing was surrounded by drama and speculation.

Initially, several men claimed to be the girl’s dad and a court eventually ordered a paternity test that revealed that Anna Nicole’s boyfriend, Larry Birkhead, was in fact Dannielynn’s dad.

“I hate to be the one to tell you this, but I told you so. I’m the father. My baby’s going to be coming home pretty soon,” Larry told reporters outside the courthouse in Nassau, the Bahamas, in 2007.

Many worried about the future of the little girl as there are far too many examples of celebrity children who go down the wrong track, having to put up with a life they didn’t ask for.

Thankfully, dad Larry seems to have a healthier idea of how to raise a child. She’s been enrolled in a regular school, been in the scouts, and gone to church every Sunday. Currently, Dannielynn resides with her father in Kentucky.

“Anna Nicole was seduced by the showbiz lifestyle, and Larry wants to make sure Dannielynn doesn’t end up like her,” a source told National Enquirer a few years ago. “[Anna Nicole was] chasing stardom and surrounded by greedy hangers-on.”

Today, 14 years after her mother’s death, you can really see Anna Nicole when looking at the little girl’s face — according to many over the years, Dannielynn is the spitting of her beautiful mother.

Now that she’s a bit older, you can really see her personality shine through and look how similar she is to her father!

According to what Larry told Us Weekly, Dannielynn wants to “be a YouTuber and make videos”. However, he has told her, “‘That’s a lot of work, and you’re only 11 years old. If it’s something you want to do when you get older, you can, but right now let’s sell some Girl Scout cookies.’”

Dannielynn has also expressed the possibility of following in her mother’s footsteps and pursuing a career in acting. It’s pretty wonderful to like, act as a character and not yourself, she stated in an interview.

It’s like playing a different character. Fun ensues. She and her father have both been on a number of series together, such as “Life after Anna,” “Wife Swap,” and “The Millionaire Matchmaker.”

And it is evident that Anna Nicole’s daughter frequently thinks of her mother.

Today, ABBA is recognized as one of the world’s most illustrious bands. The Swedish group is still regarded as a global sensation. Agnetha Faltskog, one of the group’s members, has opted for a life away from the spotlight.

One of the lead vocalists in ABBA, along with Anni-Frid Lyngstad, was Faltskog. She broke people’s hearts with some songs while making them dance with an all-time great pop voice. But more than anything, she and her bandmates became some of the most interesting musical figures ever.

Faltskog now leads a stable life in Sweden, but that doesn’t mean she has stopped creating music. At age 72, she looks incredible now!

Few people can claim they haven’t heard of ABBA. Today’s 10-year-olds probably dance as wildly as anyone ever did when they hear the band’s music. It doesn’t matter if you were present for the first performance of Waterloo or if you won’t give birth for another 30 years.

It’s nearly impossible to pick just one favorite ABBA song. The fact that there is an ABBA song for every moment of our lives, whether it be happy, sad, inspiring, or regretful, is undoubtedly why they became such global superstars.

Agnetha Faltskog most definitely was. The fact that all of the members of ABBA essentially vanished after the band’s breakup makes them quite exceptional. Yes, they kept making music, but they preferred leading a tranquil existence away from the spotlight.

So what happened to her after ABBA broke up? And how did she initially become a part of the group? This is Agnetha Faltskog’s admirable tale.

On April 5, 1950, Agnetha was born in Jönköping, Sweden. She was the first of two daughters born to Birgit Margareta Johansson and department store employee Knut Ingvar Fältskog.

Agnetha Faltskog has always had a passion for music. She had skill; some of her favorite musicians included Tom Jones, Petula Clark, and Dusty Springfield.

A song about two little “trolls” was written by Faltskog when she was only five years old. She began taking formal piano lessons when she was eight and frequently went to her neighbor’s home to practice. She performed in the local church choir as well.

With her two childhood friends, Faltskog started the band The Cambers in 1960 when she was just 13 years old. They only performed a few little shows in the neighborhood before she decided it was time for something else two years later.

Agneta became a member of the Swedish folk band Bernt Enghardt. Swedish dancing music was played while the band made its way around Sweden.

“Before me, a vocalist named Agneta resigned,” Agnetha recalls. “It was a major plus that I was also called Agnetha when they discovered me, and after I had an audition after they placed posters looking for a new vocalist.”

Faltskog was on tour with Bernt Enghardt while still working as a telephonist for a car company, but her circumstances could have been better.

She arrived home after midnight, “around two or three,” and was scheduled to report to work shortly afterward. She even passed out at the auto company one day, and her mother gave her a choice.

Agnetha recalls her mother telling her, “‘Either you work as a normal person, or you dedicate totally to singing. “I wanted to keep singing, so it wasn’t difficult.”

Before departing to launch a solo career, Agnetha sang with the Bernt Enghardt band for another two years. She changed her last name to include an “h” after releasing her debut solo album.

Faltskog’s first hit, Jag var s kär [I Was So In Love], was made public when he was just 17 years old. As soon as it reached No. 1 on the Swedish sales chart in 1968, Bjorn Ulvaeus heard it on the radio.

“I recall listening to Agnetha’s debut single on the radio. In the BBC documentary Agnetha: Abba and After, Benny commented, “There was something so extraordinary about her voice and that she had written the song herself – it was beautiful.

“She did some sort of back-to-back, good songs,” Benny Andersson continued. She performed admirably, singing in unison with herself.

Now, Bjorn and Benny were gifted musicians who had previously collaborated. Following the release of her debut hit, Agnetha’s career took off, and soon she was scheduled to perform alongside Bjorn Ulvaeus.

“She and I sang a duet on a TV show we worked on. That evening, we genuinely experienced our love affair, followed by our union shortly after. He remembered, “That was a great moment.

While Agnetha and Bjorn performed together, Benny fell in love with Anni-Frid Lyngstad, another performer.

Despite being four extremely excellent musicians in the same space, they initially had yet to make plans to form a band. The 1970 Bjorn and Benny album Lycka [Happiness] featured Anni-Frid and Agnetha as background singers.

The four quickly began collaborating. They recorded the song “People Need Love” in 1972, but it was only moderately successful there. The ensemble now went by Björn & Benny, Agnetha & Anni-Frid. They decided to participate in Melodifestivalen, Sweden’s entry into the Eurovision Song Contest, and they sang the song Ring, Ring. They came in third place, but the song was a massive hit in Sweden.

Ring, Ring gained popularity in several European nations where it persisted. The group was starting to gain notoriety everywhere at this point. They would achieve their goals one year later, in 1974.

Once more, they competed in Melodifestivalen, but they used the song Waterloo this time. Before they played at the Eurovision Song Contest in Brighton, they decided that their group would have a new name, altering the path of music history. They had won the Swedish qualification.

ABBA was created.

Agnetha had other thoughts while ABBA went on to win the Eurovision Song Contest, which many people believe to be the most memorable moment in ABBA history.

She married Bjorn Ulvaeus in 1971, and the couple welcomed Linda, their first child, in 1973. Agnetha was expecting while this ABBA mania, which was growing daily, was in full swing.

Having children while growing up to be one of, if not the largest, tribes on the planet was undoubtedly tricky.

Agnetha admitted that, given that she was only a few months away from giving birth to Linda, she was relieved that Ring Ring didn’t help them win the Melodifestivalen.

During the 10 to 12 years we performed as ABBA, Faltskog stated, “I managed to combine marriage, having children, divorce, and a worldwide success.” It wasn’t simple; I’ll be honest with you. Leaving home was difficult, especially since Dad [Bjorn] was also gone. We ensured that our kids were cared for while we were gone.

“We weren’t gone as long as you would have thought. We decided that if we were gone for 14 days, we would also be home for 14 days.

All of ABBA’s members experienced incredible success on a global scale, but Agnetha continued to have trouble with having to leave her kids.

She even told herself she might leave the group because it was difficult for her.

It wasn’t easy, and I questioned whether I should stay or go. What can we do to fix this?”I said that we had to be at home for the same amount of time we were out touring,” Agnetha continued.

I never intended to leave the group, but I could justify it to myself to get by and make everyone aware of how difficult things were.

The Battle of Waterloo was a huge success. However, it was only the start of a brand-new era in music history. It took some time before ABBA had its next big hit because placing first in the Eurovision Competition did not ensure success after the competition.

They then published the song SOS, a great hit, 18 months later. The song Mamma Mia, included on the same album as ABBA from 1975, reached the top of the charts worldwide.

It held the No. 1 spot for ten weeks in Australia, and ABBA’s mania “down under” was bananas. Australia, one of the ABBA fanatic nations, delivered the group six Number One song.

ABBA released additional albums throughout the years, and the hits kept coming. Songs like Fernando and Dancing Queen rapidly became famous; the latter was the only No. 1 single for the quartet in the US.

At this point, ABBA had established itself as one of the most well-known bands in the world, and with good reason. Songs like Money, Money, Money, Knowing Me, Knowing You, Chiquitita, The Winner Takes It All, Super Trouper, Take A Chance On Me, and Lay All Your Love On Me are among the group’s many hits.

In 1979, ABBA’s sixth album was released as Agnetha and Bjorn were divorcing. It wasn’t ugly, though; the band carried on with their professional duties.

Their divorce was the subject of the song The Winner Takes It All, which Agnetha sang.

It’s incredibly poignant that he wrote it precisely around the time of our divorce. I didn’t care, remarked Agnetha. It was beautiful to perform that song because I could convey such emotion.

“I didn’t mind sharing it with the public,” she continued. That song has so much in it. It didn’t feel unnatural.

In a 2013 interview with the Daily Mail, Agnetha discussed her divorce from Bjorn. She claimed that they get along well, if only for the benefit of their two kids.
