Valerie’s new beau, Mike Goodnough, is introduced to the world as the man who has brought joy back into her life.

Known for his witty writing and popular blog under the moniker the Hoarse Whisperer, Mike is more than just a writer – he is the perfect match for Valerie, bringing laughter and companionship into her life.

“It’s unlike any relationship that I’ve ever experienced with a man. I don’t want to say too much, but I feel incredibly blessed and lucky to have met him. I was going to die with my six cats and my dog and be incredibly happy doing it.”

Amidst speculation about their relationship, Valerie and Mike set the record straight in a candid essay penned by Mike himself. Titled “Rumors, Rumors, Rumors…”, the essay humorously confirms their status as a couple, putting an end to the swirling gossip and affirming their love for each other.

In her recently published cookbook, “Indulge,” Valerie opens up about her previous marriage to Eddie Van Halen, reflecting on their enduring love despite the trials they faced.

“Though we got divorced, Ed and I never stopped loving each other,” she penned in the cookbook, which was released April 12.

“Who knows, if not for cancer, we might have had a second wind,” Bertinelli wrote, adding that “I’m pretty sure that is wistful thinking.”

Regarding Goodnough, Valerie recounted that she started keeping up with him on social media around 2016 or 2017, prior to him reciprocating the follow in 2018. Over time, they began conversing, likely after Valerie’s separation from Tom Vitale in 2022.

“He’s exceptionally witty and remarkably skilled as a writer,” she praised Goodnough.

Speaking to PEOPLE Magazine recently, the actress disclosed, “I’ve fallen in love. It’s a rollercoaster of feelings because I was resolute in my decision to never fall in love again.”

Well, we’re happy to see Valerie happy!
