Prince William Will Reportedly Encourage Charlotte & Louis Not To Become Working Royals

At first glance. the life of a member of the royal family looks pretty sweet, but living under the pressure of the monarchy isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Knowing this, it sounds like Prince William may already have made a big decision when it comes to the futures of his two youngest children, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. According to one royal expert, Will could encourage Charlotte and Louis not to become working royals at all when he takes the throne.

William is reportedly all-in on the effort to ‘slim down’ the monarchy.

According to what royal correspondent Richard Eden wrote in his column in the Daily Mail, a friend of Prince William’s has said that he is in favor of dad King Charles’ plan to cut down on the number of working members of the royal family.

“When the older members of the family retire, His Royal Highness won’t be inviting anyone else to become working royals. It remains to be seen if he will even want his two younger children to be working royals,” said the friend.

When Will takes the thrones, things will be different for his kids.

The anonymous friend went on to say that Will sees the “small European monarchies as the model for the future” and it seems he and Kate may end up being the only working royals when it’s his turn to reign — at least, if everything goes to plan.

Another inside source seems to be in agreement.

A source told The Daily Beast that Will and Kate want to keep Louis and Charlotte from feeling like they are the “spare” the way Prince Harry did as Will’s younger brother.

“They don’t want history to repeat itself,” the insider said.

Of course, Will and Kate putting distance between their kids and the monarchy has been strategic.

“The option isn’t there for George, of course, but the children have been kept at arm’s length from royal life,” the Daily Beast’s source said. “They are exposed to the minimum possible publicity, and that is a deliberate strategy to let Charlotte and Louis choose their own destiny.”

This would be a major change in the way things have been done.

But it appears Will and Kate believe this is what would be best for their kids.

“He and Catherine adore the children, and their whole lives are about the children. I think they want to find a practical solution to the ‘spare’ problem that has bedeviled the family for generations,” the source added.
