Although each of us experiences the death of a loved one in a unique way, there is one thing that unites all of our grieving experiences: grief is never simple.

It takes time to process and deal with the loss of a loved one or close friend; occasionally, we simply never regain the identity we had before their departure.
Consider Rod Stewart, the renowned singer, who recently announced the passing of his brother Bob, just a few months after the dying of another brother Don.

Rod Stewart shared the sad news on Instagram on November 30 of last year and noted that Bob had passed away the previous evening.
The Young Turks singer continued by expressing his wish that Bob and Don, who died just months apart, were enjoying a game of football together in the hereafter.
In a devastating statement, the iconic British rock and pop artist said that the two deaths had left him without his two closest friends.

“It’s with great sadness that I announce the loss of my brother Bob last night, who joins my brother Don on the great football pitch in the sky.”
“I’ve lost two of my best mates in the space of two months. RIP Don and Bob ‘irreplaceable buddies’ Sir Rod Stewart.”

After the loss of his older brother Don in September 2022, Rod published a similar post with a picture of a crown on a dark background. Don passed away at age 94.
Rod went to a party in January 2019 to honor his sister Mary Cady’s 90th birthday. He paid tribute to her and the now-deceased Don there, praising them for their vital assistance on his path to success.

“I’ve got to tell you, these individuals were crucial in supporting me, helping me get into music, and just being there for me,” he stated at the time.
Overall, Rod had four siblings growing up, but as of late, with Bob’s passing, just Mary is left. Stewart detailed his life story in “Rod: The Autobiography”
As for his relationship with his sister and brothers, he the Scottish-born star said: “These guys have just been [expletive] brilliant throughout my life.”

Rod Stewart, who is now 78 years old, is still on the road and will soon visit Florida to perform. Considering how much he has always appreciated his brothers’ assistance, Rod will have a difficult year in 2023.

He continued, “I’ve got to tell you, these individuals were crucial in helping me get into music, encourage me, and just be there for me.”
“Whether it was football or washing my dirty underpants, I can’t speak highly enough about these guys.”

Rod himself has also struggled with health issues multiple times. He was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2000, and the disease almost ruined the voice that turned him into a worldwide star.
”It was a terrible shock. I mean, I just went into total silence for a few days,” Rod mentioned.

He underwent surgery and pulled through, but the cancer battle would affect his life in many ways. For example, he had to re-learn how to sing.

“No chemotherapy was required – which, in turn, meant there was no risk that I’d lose my hair,” he later wrote in his autobiography:
“And let’s face it: if we’re ranking threats to the survival of my career, losing my hair would be second only to losing my voice.”

In 2019, the legendary rock star once again shocked his fans when he shared that he’d been battling prostate cancer – in secret. Rod learned he had the disease in February 2016 during a routine checkup.

The singer decided to speak up at a fundraising event for the Prostate Project and European Tour Foundation in Surrey, England.
“No one knows this, but I thought this was about time I told everybody,” Stewart said, “I’m in the clear, now, simply because I caught it early. I have so many tests.”

Fortunately, the singer reportedly received the all-clear the same year.
In addition to sharing his news, he encouraged others to get checked for the fourth most common cancer “Guys, you’ve got to really go to the doctor. Finger up the bum, no harm done.”

“What happened was, it was—I had figured that it was 150—I don’t know where I got the math on that, but that’s…what I had decided…So I went into this—I saw an ad on the back of The Village Voice, and it said, ‘Artists, actors, musicians, residents.’…It was basically a flophouse, really…”

He lived with a pianist in a rental office for four years, as he couldn’t afford an apartment. As he managed to become a successful actor, and changed his own life, he met and married with his wife of 35 years, Kyra Sedgwick.

They met in 1987, in the set of the movie, “Lemon Sky.” Bacon was struck with love as he saw Sedgwick, but for her, it was not the same.

After a little pursuing, their first date happened, and they had a great date where they enjoyed their romantic dinner, and laughed for hours. And as Sedgwick explained, she realized that Bacon was meant for her.

“We’ve always been each other’s biggest support and fans. A sense of humor is crucial. He is very freaking funny.” Sedgwick said.

They had two children together, which they are grown ups now. Travis and sosie, who are in their 30s.

Being a father was everything for Bacon, as he said, “When I go home, I try to raise my children with honesty and integrity and teach them to take care of the world and of each other…”

Official updates as to the condition of Kate Middleton as she undergoes preventative chemotherapy to combat her cancer are exceedingly rare, so at this point it’s safe to assume royal enthusiasts the world over will take pretty much anything they can get.

The Princess of Wales, you will surely remember, bravely released a video back in March wherein she disclosed her heartbreaking diagnosis, following long weeks of speculation as to her whereabouts and well being.

Since then, Kate has largely been laying low, keeping herself clear of the spotlight as she recovers and recuperates at home in Windsor. It’s been widely reported that Prince William has drastically altered his schedule to better support his wife and children, but in terms of concrete updates, the general public have been left with fairly slim pickings.

Perhaps that’s why word of a decision William made this week has been looked upon with such intrigue.

According to Hello!, Kensington Palace has confirmed that William is set to engage in two public engagements that will see him leave Windsor – and therefore his family – for an overnight stay somewhere else later this week.

While on the face of it a grown man spending the night away from home to fullfil work commitments doesn’t seem all that out of the ordinary, this is the Royal Family we are talking about here, and so any decision made is fair game to be scrutinized under a microscope.

If we’re to believe varying sources, that William is prepared to leave his wife alone with the children for a night is a sign that Kate Middleton’s recovery is going well.

William will pay a visit to Cornwall on Thursday, before venturing on to the Isles of Scilly on Friday. The Prince of Wales recently resumed engagements following a pause in his calendar to spend more time with his family in wake of Kate’s diagnosis.

According to The Times, Prince William plans to “increase his diary of public engagements over the next two months”, prior to his children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis breaking up from school for the summer holidays in July and August.

As we said at the beginning of the article, updates regarding Kate’s fight with cancer firmly fall into the category of slim pickings, but the idea that William will be leaving her alone for a night could – and certainly is – being taken as a positive indication.

That might be enough to quell the concerns of fans left worried earlier this week after a friend and confidant of William and Kate said that the couple were “going through hell”.

Speaking to the Telegraph, clothing designer Amaia Arrieta, who has styled Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis in the past, painted a rather bleak picture.

“I’m heartbroken at the moment, I think they are going through hell, I hope they will be back. It’s really personal,” Arrieta said.

Last week, meanwhile, Prince William offered a rare update on his wife, insisting that she and the rest of the family were doing okay.
