Born in 2010, little Ben was the “new beginning” Travolta and late wife Kelly Preston needed after their eldest son Jett died two years year before.

Born November 23, 2010, Benjamin “Ben” is the baby brother to Ella Bleu and the third born child of John Travolta and Kelly Preston, who died at 57 in 2020 after a two-year battle with cancer.

Ben was born less than two years after Jett, the big brother he never met, died while vacationing in the Bahamas with the family. Jett, who was only 16, hit his head on a bathtub after suffering a seizure at the family’s vacation home.

Before Jett’s tragic death, Travolta, now 69, and Preston – both who starred in the 2009 film Old Dogs – were trying to have a third child to no avail.

When the grieving couple learned they had a baby on the way, Preston said they were “completely blown away” by the “miracle.”

“He’s given the house a renewed spirit and purpose,” said the Grease alum, who explained to People in 2010 that he held Preston’s hand during labor while then 10-year-old daughter Ella Bleu waited eagerly outside the room with late actor Kirstie Alley, a close family friend who died in 2022.

Few well-known Hollywood couples can boast the adoration and affection of people all over the world as Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn do.

The two have now been together for almost 40 years, which is no small feat in an era where celebrities seem to trade partners like pairs of worn-out shoes.

They have never been involved in scandals or press stunts to derail the PR train, nor do they use their romance to increase their celebrity profile.

They were stars of the big screen during that time, but they were still able to maintain a loving marriage and a strong commitment to their family.The couple’s exemplary devotion to one another is exceptional, and their love story over the years is even more enthralling.

While filming The One and Only, Genuine Original Family Band in 1966, Goldie and Kurt got to know one another. Hawn discussed the encounter on a BBC Radio 4 interview. “I was 21 and he was 16,” Hawn recalled.

“I thought he was adorable, but he was much too young. Then, years later we met up again, and I remembered that I liked him very much when I first met him. We both said we would never go out with another actor so it just shows you never can tell.”

They were, however, not quite prepared to begin dating. Goldie Hawn was genuinely having difficulties, despite the fact that one might have assumed that she was the happiest person alive at the time.

She reportedly struggled with depression, yet she kept it a secret from the world.Hawn said during an interview with the chat show Good Morning Britain that her struggles with mental illness began when she was just 20 years old.

“When I was young, I became depressed. I was 21 and I was rising to success,” she said.

I know it sounds terrible, but it’s a very, very difficult thing, I didn’t necessarily want that.”

Goldie Hawn married actor Gus Trikonis in 1969, though the couple separated after four years. She was granted a divorce in June 1976 and married Bill Hudson just a couple of weeks later, a marriage that lasted six years.

In 1983, Russell and Hawn met again while filming Swing Shift.

This time, the charming and handsome Russell tried to impress Hawn with the pick-up line: “Man, you’ve got a great figure.”

“I was severely hungover and I didn’t know Goldie at all outside of having worked with her those many years before,” Russell said in a 2017 interview with Conan O’Brien.

“I just didn’t have in my mind what I was going to see, and she had a great body. So the first thing that came out was, ‘Man, you’ve got a great figure.’ It came out quickly and it could’ve gone wrong, and she said, ‘Why thank you.’”

Goldie and Bill Hudson had two children together at the time. Her daughter Kate was born on April 19, 1979, and her son Oliver was born on September 7, 1976.

Kurt and Goldie have been a couple for 40 years now, and they are still very much in love. So what about their relationship is maybe the most intriguing? They’ve never felt the need to formalize their union with a marriage license.

“For people like us, the marriage certificate wasn’t going to create anything that otherwise we wouldn’t have,” Russell told People.

“I don’t know – 40 years isn’t enough to finally say, ‘Well I guess…’”

Hawn added: “Our children got married … Oliver’s very happily married and Wyatt’s very happily married. Katie got married once and that didn’t work, and she’s with this most amazing human and I don’t know if she’ll marry again. The point is that we all tried marriage and sometimes marriage doesn’t work.

“It’s not about the marriage. It’s about the people and the relationship, and the will to stay together. And that’s a big one because if you want it, you can have it. You’ve got to give things up, but the joy and the excitement of being together and touching the toes of somebody at night is really a nice feeling.”

Mark Wahlberg is not one to hide his faith, in fact, lately he’s been very vocal about his beliefs.

The actor appeared on the Today Show Wednesday, which also happened to be Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. During his segment he spoke with Savannah Guthrie about his choice to not push religion on others, especially his children.

“I don’t want to jam it down anybody’s throat, but I do not deny my faith. That’s an even bigger sin.”

“You know, it’s not popular in my industry, but I cannot deny my faith.”

The 51-year-old actor wore ashes in the sign of a cross on his forehead while he spoke with Guthrie.

Ashes are worn in the observance of Ash Wednesday, a day of fasting for Catholics.

Wahlberg explained fasting during the Lenten season, and while most people associate it with food you don’t necessarily have to fast from food.

“There are many different elements to fasting,” he said. “I think the important thing to understand is that, first of all, if you have issues with food, there are other things. God knows the things that he wants you to detach from. We all know those things that make us feel guilty, don’t make us feel as good as we should.”

“So (it’s about) being able to detach from those things and focus on good habits as opposed to bad habits.”

As for himself, Wahlberg said he planned on not eating meat and having only one meal on Ash Wednesday, something he’ll continue to do through Good Friday.

He also spoke of the discipline it takes to participate in Lent, and it’s something he believes has helped him throughout his life.

“Once I started getting into movies and transitioned from music, I realized I needed a lot of discipline in my life, and that discipline has afforded me so many other things. I’ve been rewarded for it so much, and I want to share that with people, whether that’s with fasting, working out more, detaching from other things and just spending more time with God, in prayer or in thoughtful reflection.”

Still, he’s careful about pushing his beliefs on others. He mentioned to Guthrie that while he feels it’s important to share this faith with others, “it’s important to respect and honor them [and their beliefs] as well.”

Mark Wahlberg is one of my favorites. I can’t think of many celebrities who are so open about their faith.
