On Monday, May 27, Jennifer Garner enjoyed a special moment with her mother, Patricia Ann Garner, on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The 52-year-old Family Switch star shared the experience with her followers on Instagram Stories, capturing the joy of finding her star together.

In the video, Garner can be seen panning across the famous sidewalk before stopping at her star. She excitedly exclaimed, “It’s here,” while her mom read out, “Jennifer Garner.” The actress then encouraged her mother to stand on the star, saying, “There you go. You stand there mom. You stand on that.” Patricia stepped into the frame with a bright smile, proudly standing on her daughter’s star.

Garner also posted a follow-up photo of herself standing on her star, captioned, “It’s still there.” The Alias actress received her star in August 2018, surrounded by her parents Pat and William, her sisters Susannah and Melissa, and her children Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, whom she shares with ex-husband Ben Affleck.

During the 2018 ceremony, Garner dedicated her star to her three children, emphasising the importance of hard work and good fortune. “When you walk over this star, I want you to remember that this is about hard work and good luck and not a whole lot else,” she said before adding humorously, “You define me, not this wonderful spot on the pavement.”

Earlier this month, Garner celebrated her mother’s 86th birthday with a heartfelt social media tribute, sharing funny videos of Patricia giving cooking tips and talking about exercise. “This is a Pat Garner stan account. I love you, Mom, happy 86th birthday!” Garner wrote.

Garner frequently shares her close relationship with her mother on social media and recently discussed her mom’s parenting wisdom on the Kelly Corrigan Wonders: About Your Mother podcast. “My mom always says when they’re being their worst, that’s when they need the biggest hug,” Garner shared. She also recalled Patricia’s advice to “be very liberal with your yeses and save your nos,” and the value of “closing your mouth” instead of saying no.

In March, Garner’s father William passed away peacefully. Garner shared the news on Instagram, expressing her appreciation for her father and the loving legacy he left behind. “My sisters and I will never be done talking about how wonderful he was, so bear with us,” she wrote.

The world was deeply moved upon hearing of the untimely passing of Bryan Randall, Sandra Bullock’s cherished partner, at 57.

From their fateful meeting in January 2015

When Randall, the gifted model-turned-photographer, was hired to shoot her son Louis’s birthday, their relationship became a testament to genuine love and deep bond.

This bond only deepened over time, marked by moments like their presence at Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux’s wedding.

Sandra Bullock, who adoringly speaks of her role as a mother to Louis and Laila, has shared insights into her life with Randall. During her December 2021 appearance on Red Table Talk, she warmly mentioned Randall’s elder daughter, showcasing the unity of their blended family. “I found the love of my life,” Sandra remarked, and further delved into their relationship, emphasizing, “We share three children. It’s the best thing ever.”

Bryan’s silent fight with ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) was one they endured privately. ALS, a relentless neurodegenerative disease, attacks the nerve cells in both the brain and the spinal cord, manifesting in a plethora of symptoms:

A study in the Journal of Neural Transmission reveals that ALS touches around 2 of every 100,000 individuals globally. The condition’s prognosis is often daunting, with a majority of those with ALS typically facing respiratory failure within three to five years from the symptom onset, as highlighted by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.

Grasping the Scope of ALS
It’s estimated that over 16,000 Americans currently have ALS, and each year, approximately 5,000 people in the U.S. receive this distressing diagnosis. The condition affects both men and women, though men slightly more before the age of 65.

Navigating the Treatment Landscape
As of now, there is no cure for ALS. However, treatments are available to help manage the symptoms and improve the quality of life:

Medication: The FDA has approved two drugs for ALS treatment: Riluzole (Rilutek) which may extend life by several months and Edaravone (Radicava) which may slow the progression in some individuals.

Physical Therapy: Engaging in physical therapy can address mobility issues and improve muscle strength, making daily tasks somewhat more manageable.

Speech Therapy: As ALS progresses, it can hinder the individual’s ability to speak. Speech therapists can assist in improving communication skills.

Nutritional Support: As swallowing becomes a challenge, a dietician can recommend dietary changes or special equipment to aid in feeding.

Alternative Therapies: While not scientifically proven, some patients explore acupuncture, Tai Chi, or specific supplements to manage symptoms. Always consult a medical professional before considering any alternative treatments.

Randall’s family, in their touching statement, voiced their appreciation for the healthcare professionals who joined them on this journey, celebrating the countless sacrifices made by many. In lieu of flowers, they encouraged contributions to dedicated ALS research and support causes, notably the ALS Association and the Massachusetts General Hospital’s Healey Center.

In conclusion, Bryan Randall’s departure is a profound loss, but it also serves as a powerful reminder of the ongoing battle against ALS. As we extend our condolences to Sandra Bullock and her kin, it’s pivotal to remain informed and rally behind the initiatives striving to alleviate the agony caused by such maladies.

Sir Ian McKellen recently turned 85 years old. The actor is perhaps one of the most prolific actors of his generation, having been knighted by the Queen herself in 1991.

The actor is still active today, and in a recent performance of his play, ‘Player Kings,’ he fell victim to a horrendous accident. Keep reading to know more.

On Monday this week, Ian McKellen was performing at the Noël Coward Theatre in London when a horrible tragedy befell him. The 85-year-old actor fell off stage during the performance.

According to reports, the actor was acting out a fight scene in the play when he lost his footing and fell.

It is not clear what injuries he has sustained as a result of the fall, but it seems the fall signalled the end of production for the evening as the theatre was evacuated.

Player Kings is an adaptation of Parts 1 and 2 of Henry IV. McKellen is playing the lead role of Jon Falstaff. His performance in the show has been praised widely by critics and fans alike.

According to the initial reports, the incident occurred as McKellen’s Falstaff circled a battle which involved his co-lead Toheeb Jimoh, who plays Henry Percy. During this scene, the actor fell off stage and cried for help. The actor was subsequently rushed to the hospital.

The theatre released an official statement to the press, which said, “Thank you to our audience and the general public for their well wishes following Ian’s fall during this evening’s performance.”

“Following a scan, the brilliant NHS team have assured us that he will make a speedy and full recovery and Ian is in good spirits,” the statement went on to say. “The production has made the decision to cancel the performance on Tuesday 18 June so Ian can rest. Those affected will be contacted by their point of purchase as soon as possible tomorrow. Thank you to doctors Rachel and Lee who were on hand in the audience and to all the venue staff for their support.”

An audience member present during the accident said later that it was “very shocking” and recounted it to the media, “As far as I saw, he was conscious because he was asking for assistance.”

Journalist Charlie Johnson, was in attendance at the theater when the incident took place. They took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to recount their experience of the incident.

“Just witnessed Ian Mckellan severely injure himself after falling off stage at Noel Coward Theatre. Sir Ian could be heard screaming in pain as ushers rushed to his aid,” he wrote. “Show cancelled as he is treated by ambulance crews. Wish him all the best.”

The production was scheduled to tour a series of theaters in London through July 27. Currently, it is unclear how McKellen’s fall would affect the schedule of the production.

We are sending our very best wishes to Sir Ian McKellen for a very speedy recovery. We hope the actor recovers in record time! Share this with other fans so they can send him their best wishes as well.

Gwen and Blake wed in 2021

The sweet escape! Gwen Stefani was pictured walking with her arms wrapped around husband Blake Shelton this past week, as the loved-up pair spent time with her children in Italy.

Photographers caught the pair enjoying their sightseeing trip in Rome, Italy, which saw them take a city bike tour with guides, and wander around viewing the stunning architecture.

In one picture, Blake walked with his arm wrapped around Gwen’s waist, while other pictures saw her fondling his bottom in a cheeky public display of affection.

Gwen kept cool in the warm weather in leggings and denim shorts with a ripped grey tee, while Blake wore a green shirt with jeans, and a baseball cap. The pair were joined by Gwen’s sons Kingston, 18, Zuma, 15, and 10-year-old Apollo, and the mom was spotted taking her own snaps of her boys in the city.

Kingston, who is the spitting image of his father Gavin Rossdale, wore a chic breton top with white linen pants, while Zuma wore a loose linen shirt and blue shorts, and Apollo showed off his fashion sense with a beige striped shirt and matching shorts.

Blake and Gwen met in 2014 when they were both judges on The Voice. They leaned on each other when they went through their respective divorces; Blake was married to Miranda and Gwen was married to Bush front man Gavin.

By the end of 2015 they were dating, and made their red carpet debut in February 2016 when they attended the Vanity Fair Oscars party together.

Blake has also spoken about becoming a stepfather to Kingston, Zuma and Apollo, admitting it was a “scary moment because it’s one thing for me to be with the kids all the time and be their buddy, but you do have to consider after a while that they start to listen to things that you say”.

“There’s a lot of responsibility that comes with that,” he added.

Meghan Markle is “pushing for an apology” from the royal family before she agrees to visit the UK, a royal expert has claimed.

The Duchess of Sussex has reportedly declined a rumored invitation to Prince Harry’s home soil next month after it was suggested that they bring their children with them.

The “Suits” alum, 42, has had a strained relationship with several senior members of her husband’s family, and even documented the hardships in several lucrative projects over the last few years.

Amid reports that Harry is reportedly planning to “reconcile” with his family during an upcoming trip to London, royal experts have suggested that peace between both camps is unlikely to happen until Markle receives an apology from the Firm.

Royal commentator Charlotte Griffiths said that the royals have “given up” on issuing any sort of apology to the mom of two.

“I think that she is pushing for an apology,” Griffiths told GB News. “She’s been pushing for that for quite a long time, although there have been reports from the Sussex camp that she has sort of given up on an apology.”

“I don’t think that she is actually blocking him from seeing his family though; we know that he came to see his dad when his dad was ill, and we know that he is coming over again in May,” she added.

Elsewhere, royal author Tom Quinn told the Mirror, “Harry would like a reconciliation, but supports his wife completely, and until she feels that the royal family have been sufficiently nice to her — and grovelingly apologized for the past — it’s not going to happen.”

“There has been a shift here since Kate’s illness. Harry and Meghan do feel they need to extend an olive branch, but Meghan’s sense of grievance is still preventing anything really meaningful happening,” Quinn continued.

“Illness often brings warring family members together,” Quinn said. “And there have been hopes at Kensington Palace that Kate’s illness might do it.”

Harry and Markle did not bring their children with them over safety concerns, as the Sussexes were stripped of taxpayer-funded UK security protection.

This means the pair will pay out of pocket for their security when back on Harry’s home soil.

While talking about the time she turned down Elvis, Cher revealed she’s typically “really shy” around men, especially when she’s not working with them.

Then without any prompting she said, “And the reason I go out with young men is because men my age are older — well, now they’re all dead — but before, they were always terrified to approach me. And younger men were the only ones that…”

“They’re bold,” Jennifer Hudson interrupted.

“Yeah, raised by women like me,” Cher added.

Her explanation comes after her relationship with Alexander “AE” Edwards, who is 40 years her junior, captured the attention of both fans and the media.

When questioned about Edwards’ potential motives, Cher responded on X, “Let Me Explain…I DONT GIVE A [flying] FK WHAT ANYONE THINKS.”

It’s 2024, we shouldn’t have to give a reason why we choose the people we date. As long as it’s not harming anyone let people love who they love.

It’s not uncommon these days to find people arguing over one thing or another on the internet.

One could say that it was inevitable, since effectively pooling millions of people in the same place and giving them the freedom to express their thoughts and feelings, no matter how contrary they may be, was always going to generate hot debate.

Opinion-dividing pictures and videos are now considered the norm online, but that doesn’t mean they’re not worth visiting each time they crop up. We here at Newsner have covered all manner of such subjects in the past, so when we came across a picture taken of a father and his sleeping daughter on a plane journey – one, we might add, that has generated all manner of comments – we simply had to relay it…

The debate in question started when Reddit user u/therra123 took to the thread r/MadeMeSmile to post a sweet moment captured between a dad and his daughter.

The user had uploaded an image of a girl curled up on her aisle seat on a flight. Instead of her head resting on the armrest – a rather crude and unforgiving pillow, I’m sure all who have experience with them will agree – her father had placed his hand under her cheek instead.

The accompanying caption on Reddit reads: “This man kept his hand in this position for 45 minutes so his daughter could sleep well.”

Reddit / MadeMeSmile

Now, at this point we have to express our opinion that this doesn’t seem anything other than a dad performing his duties. The post was rightly tagged “wholesome moments”, but some Redditors didn’t feel the same way.

Incredibly, the father was criticized for his actions, with some people writing simply to say that he could have done it better.

The post, which quickly went viral, garnering some 60,000 upvotes and thousands of comments, included replies such as:

“I feel like… I feel like there’s a better way.”

Another added: “Do you not have your towel? A towel is the most important thing you can carry.”

A third commented: “Shows a distinct lack of creative problem solving. 45 min you say and couldn’t think of a practical solution. Huh!”

While a fourth wrote: “Seriously. Roll up a hoodie jacket and bam! Insta-pillow. Or here’s a crazy thought: ask a flights attendant for a blanket and pillow.”

Others, meanwhile, were more sympathetic towards the dad and his gesture. Coincidentally, that’s the camp we find ourselves in too!

But how about you? Did you see anything wrong with the dad serving as a makeshift pillow for his daughter on this flight? Let us know in the comments.

It’s been more than seven years since Robin Williams’s tragic passing, but the larger-than-life comedian’s spirit and legacy carry on in our hearts.

Williams’s death rocked the whole world; many believed that depression and drug abuse were behind his decision to end his life.

But, in fact, it turns out there was something else entirely behind Robin Williams’s tragic death. That’s why Robin’s widow, Susan Schneider Williams, decided to reveal the truth about what really killed her husband.

The world lost one of the greatest comic minds in 2014 when iconic funnyman Robin Williams died. Robin had a reputation for being a genuinely lovely person, a family man, and an all-around funny guy. Fans worldwide revered his talent through his classic roles in films like Good Morning VietnamMrs. Doubtfire and Aladdin.

Those who knew him in real life saw that he was just as funny off-camera—and that he could use his gift to bring joy to people when they needed him most.

Marriages and kids

The beloved actor was married three times and had three kids.

Williams met his first wife, Valeria Velardi, in June 1976. Back then, Williams wasn’t famous, and worked as a simple bartender in San Francisco.

“He was bartending. He had a French accent, offered me a drink, chatted me up and was absolutely delightful,” Valeria said in 2018.

“He asked me for a ride home. He was speaking French and I was teasing him and we had a kiss. And I just knew I was going to see him again”.

The couple tied the knot in 1978, and welcomed a son, Zack, in 1983.

In 1988, Williams and Valeria separated. There were rumors that the actor had an affair with his son’s nanny, Marsha Garces – but Valeria has since denied this. That said, following the divorce, Williams married Marsha.

In 1989, the couple walked down the aisle while she was pregnant.

Robin and Marsha had two kids together, Zelda (born in 1989) and Cody (born in 1991). Unfortunately, Robin’s second marriage was also destined to end badly. After citing irreconcilable differences, Marsha filed for divorce in 2008.

Robin Williams & Susan Schneider

Then, three years after his second divorce, Robin met his soulmate, Susan Schneider. She first saw the famous comedian at a local Apple store in late 2007, where they shared a short conversation.

“I walked in and saw this man and I thought: ‘I think that’s Robin Williams. ‘ Then on my way out I happened to look at him again and he was smiling at me and something inside me said: ‘Oh, just go over and say hi’, Susan said.

They tied the knot in 2011. The ceremony was held at the Meadowood luxury resort in Napa Valley, California.

Around 120 guests were invited to the modest wedding – mostly family, close friends, and neighbors.

Robin and Susan had a strong picture of how they wanted their special day to be. No big stars were present, and it was a far cry from the flashiness and glamour one might usually associate with celebrity weddings in Hollywood.

Robin and Susan also created their own vows. Robin made sure that his brother and mother – who had passed away by this point – were honored during the ceremony. The actor asked that the Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi be read aloud by the minister.

”The wedding day was very beautiful – they were very much in love and very quiet. Both Robin and Susan were very actively involved with the preparation of the ceremony,” the minister who married the lovebirds told Daily Mail in 2014.

Robin and Susan lived in the exclusive Sea Cliff neighborhood of San Francisco Bay. The Mediterranean contemporary style 7,170-square-foot house had a magnificent view of the water, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Marin Headlands.

From the outside, it looked like Robin and Susan were very happy and had everything – but today, we know that their relationship was tested as Robin wrestled with his inner demons.

His declining health also affected his professional career. For example, Williams had trouble memorizing single lines while filming Night at the Museum 3, his final on-screen film appearance in 2014. Robin, known for memorizing hundreds of lines and delivering outstanding performances, didn’t understand why he suddenly couldn’t learn simple lines.

“Robin was losing his mind and he was aware of it,” Schneider Williams explained in 2016.

“Can you imagine the pain he felt as he experienced himself disintegrating? And not from something he would ever know the name of, or understand? Neither he, nor anyone could stop it – no amount of intelligence or love could hold it back.”

Though Robin had his issues, Susan was always there for her husband, and the couple were very open with each other. They often discussed their successes, setbacks, and biggest fears; their friendship and love grew stronger with each passing year.

Unfortunately, Susan did not have all the facts on the table, and did not fully understand why her soulmate was struggling. In many ways, Susan was powerless, but during Robin’s last months, the couple still managed to share some bright and beautiful moments.

Shortly before his passing, the struggling actor was misdiagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, which led to more questions, frustration, and dark thoughts circling in Robin’s head.

Doctors had given Robin just three years to live.

“What he was going through didn’t match one to one [with] many Parkinson’s patient’s experiences. So, I think that was hard for him,” Robin Williams’ son Zak said in Max Lugavere’s “The Genius Life” podcast.

“There was a focus issue that frustrated him; there were issues associated with how he felt, and also from a neurological perspective, he didn’t feel great. He was very uncomfortable.”

It wasn’t until after his death that the whole truth would emerge, and the world got to glimpse what Robin was battling. Three months after the legendary comedian passed, the coroner’s report was released.

The report showed that Robin had long struggled with a form of dementia called Lewy body dementia before he passed in August 2014.

In her first interview since her husband passed, Robin’s widow decided to speak up and tell the public about what really killed her husband.

Shutterstock

“Lewy body dementia killed Robin. It’s what what took his life. Depression was a small piece of the pie of what was going on… really, what was overriding that more than depression was anxiety. And the anxiety was huge,” she said.

Doctors described how the late actor must have been going through hell during the last months of his life. His form of Lewy body dementia was one of the most devastating cases doctors had ever seen.

“Lewy body dementia is a devastating illness. It’s a killer. It is fast, it’s progressive,” Dr. Bruce Miller, director Memory and Aging at the University of California San Francisco, told Today.

When she finally learned about her husband’s condition, Susan was able to put together many missing pieces and better understand why Robin acted as he did.

“I was relieved it had a name. Robin and I had gone through this experience together, really being chased by an invisible monster. And it was like whack-a-mole with the symptoms. I left there with a name of the disease, the thing that Robin and I had been searching for,” she said.

Robin Williams cause of death

On August 11, 2014, Robin Williams was found dead in his bedroom at his house in Paradise Cay, California. The cause of death was asphyxia by hanging, according to the Marin County Sheriff’s Office.

In 2015, tears flooded down Susan’s cheeks as she recalled her last conversation with her husband during an emotional interview.

A week before his death, Robin planned to check into a facility for neurocognitive testing.

On the evening before his death, Robin asked Susan if she wanted a foot massage. Susan, of course, couldn’t have anticipated what was about to happen and declined the offer.

She’ll never forget his gaze and sad eyes.

Then he left. He came back into the room a couple of times and said, “Good night, my love,” to which Susan replied, “Good night, my love.”

They were his last words to her, and her last to him.

In later interviews, Susan explained that she has forgiven Robin and doesn’t blame him for ending his life. She knew he didn’t have that many years left, and that those would have been hard years.

When first responders arrived at the house and tried to save her husband that dreadful day, she was there by his side.

“And I just wanted to see my husband. And I got to see him … and I got to pray with him. And I got to tell him, ‘I forgive you 50 billion percent, with all my heart. You’re the bravest man I’ve ever known.’ You know, we were living a nightmare,” Susan said.

Robin Williams funeral

It’s unclear if Robin’s family held a private funeral for him, but we do know that his body was cremated at Monte’s Chapel of the Hills in San Anselmo.

On August 21, his ashes were scattered over San Francisco Bay. The actor had lived in the area for almost 50 years and loved the place; it was there he felt most at peace.

It’s always sad when somebody takes their life. Sometimes I understand why, although I think people should never go that far.

It’s a shame no one knew what was exactly was happening to Robin. He was one of the greatest actors and comedians ever, but more important he was a great person!
