Famous American Actor Kent McCord has enjoyed a solid career in the movie industry since rising to fame in the series “Adam-12” in 1968. He also married his wife Cynthia, and the pair have become parents to three kids.

Kent McCord was born to Bert and Laura McWhirter as Kent Franklin McWhirter on September 26, 1942, at French Hospital, located in downtown Los Angeles, California.

At the age of ten, the youngster started working at his father’s Richland gas station, and then in 1954, he landed a job at Brackett Field Airport in La Verne, California.

He was not yet 12 years old and could not be legally paid, so instead, he was given flying lessons in exchange for his work. Kent worked there for five years before playing football at his Baldwin Park High School.

After he graduated, the youngster enrolled at Citrus Junior College and then transferred to the University of Southern California in 1961 to become a physical education instructor and football coach.

In February of 1961, Kent was asked to participate in a touch football match on a team captained by Ricky Nelson against the opponents led by Elvis Presley.

Afterward, he and Ricky became friends, and the former cast him on the hit series “The Adventure of Ozzie and Harriet.” Kent also appeared in a few Elvis movies, including “Viva Las Vegas” and “Roustabout.”

During the 60s, he signed a deal with Universal Studios which led him to appear in “Dragnet” and “The Big Explosion.” His performance in the former lead creator Jack Webb to cast the actor in “Adam-12” opposite Martin Milner.

The series became a huge hit, and Kent’s character of Officer Jim Reed became what he is famously known for today. The series “Adam-12” aired from 1968 till 1975, spanning 174 episodes.

After the show ended, the actor went on to play the character of Barry Van Dyke in the ABC series “Galactica 1980” and the NBC series “UNSUB” in 1989.

He has also been involved in the Screen Actors Guild, serving on its board of directors and becoming the Guild’s vice president for four years. Kent also received the prestigious Ralph Morgan Award in 1999.

Kent McCord rose to fame playing the character of Officer Jim Reed in the hit series “Adam-12,” which debuted in 1968.

After appearing in the series, Kent worked as a reserve officer for the Los Angeles School Police department from 2005 till 2009. He is regularly praised for his outstanding performance in “Adam-12.”

The actor, who is known for his humility and living a low-key lifestyle, never misses an opportunity to speak with his fans, inviting them to chat one on one via GalaxyCon’s virtual Meet and Greet.

Kent disclosed he had hosted a couple of online discussions with his fans over the years, which he enjoys, but it is rather sad they cannot meet in large groups due to the effects of COVID-19.

Regarding the actor’s love life, Kent married his high school sweetheart Cynthia Lee Doty on July 14, 1962, and the couple has become parents to three kids.

His first child daughter Kristen McCord was born on February 28, 1963, in Los Angeles, California. Eight years later, the family expanded when second child Megan McCord was born on April 21, 1971.

Kent’s daughters are both actresses; Kristen appeared alongside him in “Adam-12” and movies like “Desperate” and “Glamazon: A Different Kind of Girl” while Megan appeared in “Women’s Story” in 2000.

During the final season of “Adam-12,” Kent’s on-screen wife, Jean, was played by Actress Kristin Harmon, who was also married to the actor’s best friend, Ricky Nelson.

However, Cynthia did not mind Kristin playing her husband’s on-screen wife since everything was make-believe and the money from the series was rolling in.

Just three days before the final episode of “Adam-12,” Kent and his wife welcomed their first son, which took the actor’s attention away from the series finale.

For the next year, the actor’s focus was on making sure his family was cared for and renovating his house the way he wanted it to be. Kent explained:

“Before and after that big event, I tackled projects that had piled up at home. Remodeling, painting, and landscaping. I hadn’t had time to do half the things I wanted to do around the house.”

He subsequently turned down acting roles because he was more concerned and interested in being at home with his family.

Having worked on different movie projects in the previous years’ Kent believed his popularity with the fans would not suffer if he decided to take a break from acting.

The actor bought a bicycle for himself and Cynthia, and the couple would load their bikes to the route 66 highway in Santa Monica to ride.

Apart from the recognition and wealth that came from his performance in the hit series “Adam-12,” the Actor also made lifelong friends with some of the casts.

Kent and Martin Miller became friends, and the Actor and Cynthia would sometimes visit Martin and his wife, Judy.

The Actor also befriended singer Julie London who was also friends with Cynthia and their three children. Kent and Julie also shared the same birthday and worked together on “Adam-12” and “Emergency” in 1972.

Even though Julie was 16 years older than Kent, they had a good relationship, and the Actor would call her on their birthday.

Also, iconic movie director John Ford was a fan of “Adam-12,” He once visited the actors on set. He was seen speaking with Kent about different aspects of the show, including the Actor’s role and what goes into producing a TV show.

Meanwhile, Kent has played his iconic “Adam-12” character of Officer Jim Reed multiple times on different shows, including “Dragnet,” “The D.A: People Vs. Saydo,” as well as “Emergency: The Wedsworth-Townsend Act.”

When my husband gave me a scary ultimatum, he didn’t expect me to stand up for myself and our children. The lesson I taught him showed him how unreasonable he was being when we already had so much to be grateful for. His ultimatum ended with him begging ME for mercy!

I never thought I’d be in this position, but here I am, standing at a crossroads. I was pushed to take drastic measures when my spouse pushed me into a corner with one demand. But that demand was enough to get me to act.

My husband, Danny, has always been a devoted father and a successful businessman. He’s provided well for our family and spends lots of time at the office. This has given me the freedom to be a stay-at-home mother and raise the five beautiful daughters we already share.

But lately, his dreams of having a son “to carry on the family name” have turned into demands. And those demands have morphed into threats!

“Lisa, we NEED to have a sixth child,” he said one night after dinner. His tone was serious, almost cold.

“Danny, we already have FIVE daughters. You want me to keep having babies until we get a son?” I replied, feeling the tension rise.

“But aren’t children a blessing to you? Is it really that hard?” His words stung. We’ve had this argument many times before, but this time it felt different. It felt like an ultimatum. We continued going round in circles with neither of us willing to relent on their choices.

Our argument escalated to the point where he hinted that he might consider DIVORCING me if I refused to have a son for him! “Are you saying you’d leave me if I don’t give you a son?” I asked, my voice trembling.

“I didn’t say THAT,” he muttered, looking away. But the implication was clear. He was willing to consider divorce if I didn’t follow HIS wishes. That was the end of our argument as we went our separate ways in preparation for bed.

That night, I lay awake, thinking about our conversation. How could he be so dismissive of the life we’d built together? Our daughters are amazing, each one unique and full of life. I couldn’t imagine our family any other way.

I needed to make him understand what he was asking of me, of us. And you know what? Before closing my eyes and drifting off to sleep, I decided on a cunning way to SHOW him EXACTLY what it meant to raise five children ALONE!

The very next day, I woke up extra early while everyone was still fast asleep. I packed a bag and drove to my late mother’s old country house. I turned off my phone’s ringer and ignored all his calls and texts.

After preparing myself breakfast and a hot cup of coffee, I settled in to watch my favorite show for the day: “The Drama That Unfolds When You Leave Your Husband at Home Alone with Five Children.” I watched everything in real-time through the surveillance cameras we had installed at home.

Danny was in for a RUDE awakening! The minute he woke up, he started getting ready for work. But he stopped his preparations when he heard the children causing a ruckus. “Where’s your mother and why aren’t y’all dressed and ready for breakfast?” he asked our rascals.

My babies made me proud when they ignored him and continued jumping on beds and playing. My husband looked for me while calling my name before he realized I wasn’t home. He then started calling me and I watched the phone call come through.

“What the hell, Lisa,” he said in frustration before giving up on the sixth missed call. He couldn’t leave for work because he couldn’t leave our young daughters alone. The first morning was HILARIOUS and a COMPLETE disaster!

He tried to make breakfast and ended up burning the toast and spilling orange juice EVERYWHERE! The kids were running around, refusing to get dressed. He was completely overwhelmed and I was enjoying every moment!

“Emma, stop running! Jessica, put your shoes on!” I could hear him shouting, his voice frazzled.

“Daddy, I don’t like this cereal!” Emily whined, pushing her bowl away.

“Then WHAT do you WANT?” he asked, exasperated.

“I want pancakes!” she demanded. Danny sighed, rubbing his temples.

“Fine, I’ll make pancakes.”

Little Jessica, feeling left out, chipped in saying, “I want scrambled eggs and cake!”

Emma, not one to be left out, demanded, “Waffles and fresh cream, please!”

If his temples were aching before, I was SURE they were now THROBBING! Throughout the day, the chaos only grew! He tried to help them with their online school, but they kept getting distracted and running off!

“Jessica, focus on your math homework,” he pleaded.

“But I don’t understand it, Daddy!” she cried. He sat beside her, staring at the screen.

“Okay, let’s figure it out together.” Between helping the children, a call from work came through.

Judging from the conversation and Danny’s profuse apologies, he’d forgotten to report himself as absent for the day! When it came time for lunch, my husband couldn’t figure out what our children liked to eat. So they ended up having a picnic of random snacks.

“Can we have peanut butter and jelly?” Emma asked.

“I’m not sure we have any,” he replied, searching the pantry.

“How about just jelly?” she suggested. I must admit, it was sad seeing Danny suffer like this but it was absolutely funny and worth it!

The house was a MESS, with toys everywhere, and he looked like he was about to lose it! “Why is there Play-Doh on the carpet?” he groaned.

“I don’t know, ask Emily,” Jessica replied. Hearing her name, Emily started listing off all the reasons why she wasn’t the culprit!

“I only play with purple and blue Play-Doh. I wasn’t sitting on the carpet, I only ran a bit on it in one spot. I…” My husband hilariously cut her off before she could continue, “Okay, Emily! Enough, I got it! Can you PLEASE just remove it for Daddy?”

In the evening, the girls wanted to play dress-up, and Danny HAD to take part! They made him wear a tiara and feather boa while they pretended he was a princess!

“Daddy, you look SO pretty!” Emily giggled.

“This is ridiculous,” he muttered, but he smiled at their joy.

My husband looked out of place and so exhausted. Bedtime was the FINAL straw! They REFUSED to go to bed, demanded stories, and kept sneaking out of their rooms! MAN was I proud!

“Just one more story, Daddy,” Emma begged.

“Alright, but THEN it’s REALLY time for bed,” he agreed, his patience wearing thin. By the end of the second day, Danny was visibly on the verge of a breakdown! He started sending me desperate messages, begging me to come back and help.

“My angel, please, I can’t do this alone,” he texted. He even sent a video of himself, on his knees, asking for forgiveness.

“I’m sorry, my love. Please come home. I need you.” What made the clip even funnier was that he took it in our locked bathroom while the girls DEMANDED he come out and play!

I decided it was time to go home. When I walked in, Danny was the first to rush to me, looking more relieved than I had ever seen him!

“I am so sorry,” he said. “I won’t pressure you about having a son anymore.” He held me so tight I almost couldn’t breathe!

“I realize now how much you do, and I promise to spend more time with the family,” he vowed. I was touched.

“If you truly promise to spend more time with us and help out more, we can discuss the POSSIBILITY of a sixth child,” I said.

He nodded vigorously. “I promise, I swear. Please, just don’t ever leave me alone with them for that long again!” We both laughed and from that day on, he kept his promise. He became more involved with our family, appreciating all the hard work that went into raising the children we already had.

Our lives began to change for the better. Danny started coming home early from work and even worked from home at times, determined to be more present. He helped with homework, attended school events, and took over bedtime duties!

My once-misled husband even learned how to braid hair, much to the delight of our daughters!

“Look, Mommy! Daddy braided my hair!” Jessica beamed one morning.

“You did a great job, darling,” I praised.

One Saturday morning, as we sat around the breakfast table, Danny looked at me with a soft smile.

“I’ve been thinking,” he said. “Maybe it’s not about having a son. Perhaps it’s about cherishing the family we have.”

I smiled back, feeling a warmth spread through my chest. “That’s all I’ve ever wanted, Danny.” We continued our breakfast, talking and laughing, the tension of the past few weeks melting away. It was in those simple moments, surrounded by our daughters, that we found our true happiness.

Months went by, and my husband never brought up the idea of having a sixth child again. He was a changed man, more involved and connected with our family than ever before. The girls adored him, and our home was filled with joy and laughter.

“Daddy, will you come to my dance recital?” Emily asked one day.

“OF COURSE, sweetheart. I wouldn’t miss it for the world,” he promised. And he kept his promise! He was there for every recital, every soccer game, every school play. Our daughters flourished under his newfound attention and love.

One evening, as we watched our daughters play in the yard, Danny took my hand. “Thank you, Lisa,” he said softly. “For everything.” I squeezed his hand, feeling tears well up in my eyes.

“Thank you for understanding,” I replied.

Our journey wasn’t easy, but it brought us closer together. My husband learned to appreciate the family he had. And I found the strength to stand up for myself and our daughters. We were stronger than ever, ready to face whatever challenges life threw our way.

And as we sat there, watching our daughters chase fireflies under the setting sun, I knew we had found our happily ever after.

If you enjoyed reading the story then this next one should have you thrilled! It’s about a woman whose unemployed husband told her to stop asking him for help at home even though she was working full-time. She enlisted the help of his father and gave him a well-deserved wake-up call!

Stephen Vigil of Fredericksburg, Va., has had a lifelong bond with his grandmother, Julia Jarman.

“Since I was a baby, we’ve always been close,” he said. “I’ve always felt I could go to her and talk to her about anything.”

When Jarman, who just turned 92, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer earlier this year and only given a few months to live, Vigil, 17, knew that he wanted to make more memories with her. Among them: asking his grandmother to be his date to the junior prom.

Of the recent night, which was covered in his local newspaper, the Free Lance Star, Vigil said: “I wasn’t sure what to expect at first. I didn’t know if the loud music would be too much. But we had a great time.”

When the two arrived, the DJ played “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis and invited the pair to dance.

“That’s my grandmother’s all-time favorite song,” Vigil said. “She had a ball. She said she had the best gift of her life that night – she had never been to a prom.”

Denzel Washington, at 67, stands as a titan in the film industry, with a career spanning decades and a legacy that towers over Hollywood itself.

Beyond his achievements as an actor, producer, and director, Denzel is a devoted husband and father. His marriage to Pauletta has endured nearly four decades, a feat akin to a Hollywood eternity.

Their love story began in the late ’70s, when fate brought them together not once, but twice. Initially cast in the same film in 1977, they crossed paths without exchanging a word.

Months later, they found themselves at the same party, drawn to each other’s intellect and charm.

Their connection deepened when they unknowingly sat beside each other at a theater, watching the same play. It felt like destiny had orchestrated their meeting, a sentiment Pauletta still holds dear.

Their romance blossomed, marked by moments of shared laughter and understanding. Despite the twists and turns, they eventually tied the knot in Pauletta’s hometown, Newton, South Carolina, after overcoming hurdles that tested their commitment.

Their union bore four children, whom they raised with love and intentionality. Denzel, a Hollywood icon, remained a pillar of support and guidance for his family, grounded in his faith and upbringing.

Their shared values and upbringing laid the foundation for their parenting journey, fostering a nurturing environment where their children could thrive.

For Denzel and Pauletta, their love story is not just about enduring romance but also about building a legacy of love and devotion.

Pauletta’s Family Sacrifices

Similar to Denzel, Pauletta harbored a passion for acting but opted not to pursue it, witnessing another person take on a role she originated.

Yet, their unwavering spiritual faith, devotion to family, mutual understanding, and enduring romance have sustained their bond for nearly four decades.

As their family grew, Pauletta felt compelled to set aside her career and embrace the role of a stay-at-home mother, dedicating herself to raising their children.

Though her decision required courage and entailed relinquishing her professional aspirations, Pauletta acknowledged the challenges she faced and credited her faith for providing solace during those sacrifices. Reflecting on her journey, she remarked:

“It has taken maturity and experience to get to this point. There were times when the only thing that kept me sane was faith.”

Fortunately, her sacrifices did not go unnoticed. Denzel expressed profound gratitude for having a wife who instilled their children with essential values to navigate the world.

Describing his beloved as a “remarkable woman” who contributed significantly to their enduring marriage, the acclaimed actor lauded Pauletta for embracing her role as the family’s nurturer wholeheartedly.

He emphasized their harmonious partnership, characterized by clearly defined roles and mutual support.

When asked about the secret to their enduring love and harmonious home life, especially in the midst of fame, Denzel attributed it to various factors, including security, sustenance, and the warm atmosphere Pauletta cultivated in their home.

He highlighted her pivotal role in raising their children and the sacrifices she made for their well-being.

The Washingtons: A Resilient Marriage of Over Four Decades

Their enduring spiritual faith, commitment to family, mutual understanding, and enduring affection have provided the foundation for their enduring love story spanning nearly forty years.

They have demonstrated that fame and fortune pale in comparison to the strength of their bond.

Their marriage is not modeled after the glitz and glamour of Hollywood but rather rooted in their personal values and principles, which have guided them since the outset.

In 2018, Denzel humorously attributed their successful marriage to following orders and keeping quiet, underscoring Pauletta’s role as the anchor of their household.

Despite facing challenges, including rumors of infidelity in 2013, which they navigated with discretion, Denzel and Pauletta remain steadfast in their commitment to each other.

Their journey serves as an inspiration to younger couples, showcasing the power of sacrifice, unity, shared values, and maturity in overcoming obstacles and nurturing a lasting bond.

At 79 years old in 2023, Sam Elliott reflects on his enduring love story with his wife, Katharine Ross, revealing the secrets behind their lasting relationship.

Their journey began on the set of “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,” where Elliott was instantly smitten with Ross, though too intimidated to approach her.

However, fate intervened in 1978 during the filming of “The Legacy,” allowing them to forge a deep connection.

Married since the late 1980s, Ross’s fifth marriage and Elliott’s first, they have weathered over three decades together. Elliott attributes the longevity of their union to mutual understanding and a willingness to confront challenges head-on.

He emphasizes the importance of working through difficulties rather than walking away, citing it as the foundation for lasting relationships.

Beyond love, Elliott believes in the value of commitment and hard work, principles that have guided their marriage through the years.

Avoiding the distractions of tabloid gossip and staying grounded in their shared values has further strengthened their bond.

Their love extends to their daughter, Cleo Rose, who has pursued a career in music, following in her parents’ footsteps. Elliott cherishes their close relationship, relishing simple pleasures like walks and rock hunting near their Malibu home.

Despite their success, Elliott remains humble, finding fulfillment in the everyday joys of life, from caring for their animals to the simple act of shoveling manure. For Elliott, it’s these grounded moments that keep them connected and grateful for the life they’ve built together in Malibu.

Angie Dickinson was one of the most celebrated actresses of her generation. She won awards for her amazing roles and would be praised for her skills as a performer.

But years on, at 92 years old, it seems the glamor of the actress’ heyday has long faded. To find out what her life looks like now, keep reading…

Angeline Dickinson who is more widely known as Angie is an American actress who has had a tremendous television career. She started out by appearing on anthology shows in the early ’50s. Then she finally landed a role in “Gun the Man Down,” but you may also remember her from her sow “Rio Bravo,” which earned her a Golden Globe award.

Apart from television, she also did a lot of work in films. She had roles in movies like “Jessica,” “The Chase,” “The Outside Man,” “The Art of Love,” “The Killers,” “Ocean’s 11 (1964),” “Pretty Maids All in a Row,” and many more. She was a highly booked actress throughout the ’60s and ’70s.

But perhaps her most impactful role was as Seargent Pepper Anderson in “Police Woman.” This was the first time an actress was the lead in a television show and she was a smash hit. Her role also inspired several young girls to join the police force.

The actress herself acknowledged how “unique” it was to see a woman in uniform on television. While it is common to see women as cops on television today in shows such as CSI or Law and Order, at the time it was a unique experience.

In a PBS series titled “Pioneers of Television,” the actress discussed her involvement with the role and how positively audiences responded to crime shows even at the time.

But the actress never considered herself a “feminist.” She believed she had to compete with men. While she was not a feminist herself, her role did empower a lot of women to make certain decisions.

As for herself, the actress said, “when I was up for a role, I didn’t compete with men; it was a role for a woman.”

And when she was asked about the pay gap which actresses still struggle with, she revealed that it did not bother her. The actress said she was “content” with the salary she had been offered at the time.

Shutterstock

She also lamented at the missed opportunity she had with “Police Woman.” She said that the show did not show more. She said she felt the show was “too clean.” She did not appreciate how each episode ended perfectly and how little violence there was in them.

The actress said she wished her show had depicted worse consequences for bad guys. She appreciated current shows like  “Southland” and “Detroit 1-8-7,” which do better with depicting such circumstances than her show did.

When the show was at its most popular, the actress revealed she would often get letters from fans who told her how she had inspired them to become join the police force.

The actress was in her 40s when “Police Woman” and she worked incredibly hard to deliver a stellar performance. She worked twice as hard as actresses younger than her and even with age, her beauty seemed to get even more enhanced rather than just fade.

She was captivating for a lot of people. Which is why it is rumored she was incredibly close to the Rat Pack. It was famously rumored that the actress had a 10 year long affair with Frank Sinatra after the two of them starred in the original Ocean’s 11 together. There were also rumors that Angie was involved with Dean Martin and former president John F. Kennedy as well.

The actress also made her famous cameo in 2001’s “Ocean’s 11” with George Clooney. She is still regarded as a Hollywood legend who is praised by the entire industry even today.

In 2020, the actress made a startling revelation in an interview. She appeared on “CBS Sunday Morning Show” where she was asked about her time on “Police Woman.” She revealed that when she was first offered the role, she had wanted “to throw up.”

She said at the time it was a “horrendous undertaking.” She revealed the show shot 20 to 21 episodes each season which would be a grueling task. She told the showrunners she would give them four years but no more than that!

She worked on the show for four years and now revealed that she had not been paid much for it. In the end she says it “sapped” years of her life and that it “wasn’t worth it.”

When she was asked what prompted her to accept the role, the actress simply replied that David Gerber had told her it would turn her into a household name. But she revealed how at the time it was something she had wanted but things people want change all the time.

In her life, the actress has been married twice. She married her first husband Gene Dickinson in 1952 and their marriage ended in 1960. The actress later met and married Burt Bacharach. She was with him from 1965 to 1981. It was also Bacharach’s second marriage.

The couple had a daughter together – the first child for them both. They named their daughter Nikki. She was born prematurely about 3 months earlier than her due date in 1966. Years later, Angie revealed that her daughter had Asperger’s syndrome, which is on the autism spectrum and often referred to as a type of “high-functioning autism.”

Nikki studied geology at Cal Lutheran University. Unfortunately, her eyesight became worse and worse which prevented her from having a career. Her parents then took her to a specialized facility where she lived for ten years.

Sadly Nikki died by suicide in 2007 in her condo in Thousand Oaks. She was 40 years old at the time and a statement released to the public read that she had taken her life to “escape the ravages” in her mind.

Shutterstock

Angie later said of her daughter, “She was very smart and funny and wonderful. Yeah, so all my memories of her are my best memories.”

When Angie got together with Bacharach, he was still unknown in the industry while she was a major name. But soon Bacharach wrote songs for Dionne Warwick and Butch Cassidy which helped him gain a lot of popularity.

While he got busier, Angie was more than happy to take a backseat so she could be a better mother and wife. She even rejected projects to make sure she was close to home at all times. She did not step out in the industry for a while till “Police Woman” came out.

Shutterstock

When she got the job, she had a clause added to her contract that said she would be home by 6 p.m. but of course it did not work out the way she had wanted. She would often end up bringing Italian takeout on her way home from work so the family could eat on time. At the time Bacharach told her she was angry all the time, she did not understand what he meant till years later.

She understood much later that she would blame herself for the smallest thing which was hurting her marriage too. She later wondered whether being a Hollywood mom had been worth it and whether her husband would have loved her more had she been a housewife.

Shutterstock

The couple separated for five years before their divorce. They saw other people during the time but Angie always kept pictures of Bacharach in her home because after all, he was her daughter’s father.

Her daughter was also a musician and played the drums. They had a rocky relationship which was strained especially when Nikki was 14 years old and had joined a religious cult.

Nikki was also not very feminine and said she would “never be as feminine” as her mother. Still, the women had a beautiful bond and Angie always wanted her daughter to be close to her.

When she was working on “Pearl,” she took Nikki with her to Hawaii. However, when the two of them were in the water, they met with a tide that led them to collide with a coral reef. Angie was convinced they would not survive. Luckily she was able to keep her daughter safe and above water.

Since Nikki was born premature she had certain health issues like ones with her eyesight. She was also on the autism spectrum. At times Nikki would get physical with her mother but Angie always understood her daughter’s frustrations.

As Nikki’s health demanded more attention, Angie stepped away from her career to focus on her daughter. She said about it, “It wasn’t a sacrifice. Would I have been out working? Yes, I would have been doing plays in Chicago or something like that, if I hadn’t had a daughter who needed me. But I did. I didn’t have the gift of free time.”

When her daughter took her own life, Angie sought support from her friends. This included Gregory Peck’s widow, Veronique, who also knew Tony Kushner. The actress found solace in one his his plays which had themes about losing someone in it.

Burt Bacharach also passed away earlier this year on February 8, 2023, at the age of 94 years old. While he had other children, Nikki had been Angie’s only child. The actress separated and divorced the famed composer for various reasons which also included his infidelity, he confessed to doing so in his autobiography as well.

Angie would often talk about how the composer did not love her the way people conventionally love others. She said, ” he had no respect for me.” When she was asked whether she loved him, she replied with a yes.

The actress now lives a reclusive but peaceful life in her own home in Beverly Hills. She is seldom seen outside which is understandable given her advanced age. Her last movie was in 2004 titled “Elvis Has Left The Building” and in 2009 she appeared on television “Mending Fences.”

But she has been on camera after that. She appeared on a PBS documentary about Sammy Davis, Jr., “I’ve Gotta Be Me.” When she was 79 years old, the actress said she was ‘lucky.’ She said, “I came along at the right time for so many great things. I met some great stars and stayed friends with many and lovers with some. It was a fantastic life, really. And it still is.”

When it came to reprising her career as an actress, she said she did not want to have to do “grandmother parts.” But she did consider doing ‘one-woman shows’ or theater instead.

At 92 years old, she says making films and working on television can be a task. She said she was still thinking about good looks, “Even at my age, I am still into the glamour-girl syndrome: You know, she has great legs, but she can’t act.”

In 2008, she sat next to Clint Eastwood who joked to the actress that at his age makeup artists had stopped fussing over him. The actress however revealed that it had not been that way for her. She revealed that she had gotten so used to hair and make-up that she felt naked without them.

She later said of it, “You end up obsessed with your looks. If an elevator doesn’t have a mirror in it, I’m finished. I don’t care who you are, when you get to be past 50, it all changes.”

The actress has been known to be close-lipped and reveal nothing about her personal life. She said that is probably why publishers are not interested in a tell-all from her. She said, “But I won’t do warts-and-all, you know? That’s not my nature. If I get up the energy one day, maybe I’ll go out and do a one-woman show.”

Alexandra Becket, a writer for LA Magazine revealed she often was a cat-sitter for Angie and that in a neighborhood filled with big Hollywood names, Angie was “the sweetest neighbor I could ask for.”

The actress lives alone reportedly. Hopefully, she is keeping well and does not feel lonely all by herself!

Makes me laugh, all these modern proclamations of “finally strong women”. Angie was kicking butt way before any of these so-called “firsts”, and she did it with grace and beauty and a take no prisoners attitude.

There were a lot of strong women in film and tv growing up, and they did it in a time where they were the pioneers. Everyone just seems to have forgotten.

Wynonna Judd is responding to concerned fans after many took to the comments Wednesday night to express their worry over the country singer’s health.

Judd, 59, and Jelly Roll, 38, opened the CMA Awards together performing Jelly Roll’s “Need a Favor.” During the opener, Judd was seen clutching Jelly Roll.

The scene prompted many fans to comment their concern for Judd’s health.

Following the show, Judd uploaded a video on her social media accounts addressing her fans’ concerns.

“Don’t read the comments” they say… she captioned her video.

In the short clip, Judd admits she read the comments before stating “I’m just gonna come clean with y’all.”

“I was so freaking nervous.”

When Jelly Roll asked Judd to open the show with him, she was ecstatic, but it didn’t stop her nerves from getting the best of her.

“I got out there and I was so nervous that I just held on for dear life. And that’s the bottom line.”

After her performance she spoke with ET explaining her decision to accept Jelly Roll’s request to join him on stage.

“I have to show up for people like people did me,” Judd told ET. “That’s my job now is to pass it on because people have been so generous with me and now it’s my turn to be generous with people like Jelly Roll and that’s what I’m doing.”

On January 11, 2021, Ben & Jerry’s issued a powerful statement regarding the events of January 6, 2021. They asserted that what transpired was not a mere protest, but a riot aimed at upholding white supremacy. According to the statement, “It was allowed to happen. The mostly white insurrectionists roamed freely and without consequence through the heart of our democracy.”

Ben & Jerry’s emphasized that the riot’s permissiveness was inherently linked to the race of the participants. They highlighted the stark contrast in how the rioters were treated compared to how Black, Brown, or Indigenous people would have been treated in a similar scenario. The company argued that the leniency shown to the insurrectionists was due to their whiteness.

The statement underscored a troubling double standard in the enforcement of law and order, pointing out the systemic racism that continues to plague the United States. Ben & Jerry’s called for a critical examination of this disparity, urging people to confront and address the underlying racial injustices. They stressed the importance of recognizing and challenging the privileges that allowed such an event to occur with apparent impunity for those involved.

Halloween’s star, Jamie Lee Curtis, made a stunning appearance on the red carpet in a plunging navy blue dress that beautifully showcased her figure. The dress featured a flattering ruffle just below her bust, adding to her elegant look. To complete her outfit, she wore black heeled shoes that perfectly complemented her ensemble.

The film “Everything Everywhere” was among the nominees, alongside other notable titles such as “Avatar: The Path of Water,” “The Banshee of Inisherina,” “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” “Elvis,” “Fabelmans,” and “Knives Out: Bulb made of glass.”

Since its release on March 25, 2022, the film has achieved significant success, grossing $107.4 million worldwide. Its earnings are expected to continue growing as it receives more awards and accolades.

“Bringing Miranda Priestly to life in the West End is an absolute dream come true. Gird your loins, folks,” Williams said in a statement about her new role, per Variety.

The new musical features an original score by music legend Elton John, with lyrics penned by Shaina Taub and a book written by Kate Wetherhead. Jerry Mitchell, a three-time Tony Award-winning choreographer, provides direction and choreography on the new production.
The 2006 movie starred Anne Hathaway as lead character Andy Sachs, an aspiring journalist who is thrown for a loop when she lands a job as a personal assistant to Priestly, who Meryl Streep played in the film. Streep, 74, received an Academy Award nomination for her role as the fictional magazine editor; and the movie became the 12th-highest grossing film of 2006.

Williams previously played a similar role as another fashion magazine editor, Wilhelmina Slater, in the ABC series Ugly Betty from 2006 to 2010. The actress told Entertainment Weekly all the way back in 2009 that playing the character was her “favorite role of a lifetime, and I truly enjoy coming to work every day.”

Additional casting for the upcoming musical has yet to be announced. The Devil Wears Prada musical will hold an exclusively preview engagement at Theatre Royal Plymouth in Plymouth, U.K., this July prior to its opening on the West End, as the production previously announced. The show opens at London’s Dominion Theatre in October.
