Both drop dead gorgeous and talented, the Jones Girls were individually accomplished singers; but together, their voices were absolutely heavenly. And at PIR they found the perfect match in the melodic writing and lush production that Gamble & Huff and Dexter Wansel/Cynthia Biggs provided them. Their second and third PIR albums were gems. At Peace With Woman and Get As Much Love As You Can featured a number of now classic cuts, including the club favorite “Nights Over Egypt,” the sassy “I Just Love the Man” and a timeless cover of the Stylistics’ “Children of the Night.”In what would prove a career mistake, the Jones Girls left Philadelphia International for RCA Records in 1984, and couldn’t recapture the magic. They retired the group in 1985 and lead singer Shirley Jones went solo, returning to PIR in 1986 for Always In The Mood and its #1 hit, “Do You Get Enough Love.” She continued to record sporadically over the next decade, and the group reunited from time to time for special concerts and issued a 1992 reunion album, Coming Back, in Europe. The sisters spent much of the next decade raising their children, occasionally reuniting for shows (particularly in Europe) and providing guest vocal help to other artists. They released Best of the Jones Girls in 2000, a great sampler of their work on PIR and an essential purchase for lovers of sophisticated, well orchestrated soul music. Sadly, sister Valorie died the next year.
Brenda Jones ultimately moved to Atlanta, where she sang frequently with her four-piece band, performing both Jazz and R&B numbers, including several Jones Girls tunes. She later moved to New York after her children were grown, to have a more active performing and recording schedule. Brenda died tragically on April 4, 2017 after being hit by an automobile.Shirley Jones is based in Atlanta and has appeared in several stage plays and concerts in the US and Europe with such artists as Jean Carne, Glenn Jones and Cherelle. In 2010, after a long recording break, Shirley released the solo album, Feels Like Heaven. She has continued to record successful singles since then, and also tours regularly, performing solo or with backing singers replicating the Jones Girls sound.Despite their relatively brief recording period on PIR, the Jones Girls’ exquisite harmonies and engaging stage presence, combined with the uniformly excellent songs they received, created a powerful musical legacy that continues to this day. Happy birthday, Shirley!
Susan Boyle captured the hearts of music lovers around the world when she first appeared on the third season of “Britain’s Got Talent” over a decade ago.
The video of her first audition when she stood in front of Simon Cowell, shy and unassuming and then blew everyone away with her rendition of “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Misérables has been watched by millions.
She gained fame, as well as earned millions of dollars through album sales. However, her journey hasn’t all been sunshine and roses, and the singer’s love life has long been the subject of rumors and speculation.
So, did Susan Boyle ever marry? Does she have a partner? And where is she living now?

It’s quite natural to stop and look in the rearview mirror as you grow older – and Susan Boyle can certainly look back on a remarkable life.
In 2008, the unemployed charity worker lived alone with her cat, Pebbles, and wanted to see if she could make it in show business. After performing I Dreamed a Dream from Les Misérables in front of Simon Cowell and the rest of Britain’s Got Talent judges, the 47-year-old became a star overnight.
The crazy underdog audition gained her instant recognition across the world. Even today, her journey is inspiring to millions.
“I used to be a kind of spectator looking outward at the world. But now I’m part of that world and, though frightening, I’m going to embrace it,” Boyle said after her breakthrough.
In her first year as a superstar, she made $6.8 million.
Her success continued and after the release of her second studio album, she became the third artist to top the charts in the UK and the US twice in the same year.
Overnight this unassuming and shy then 47-year-old from Scotland became an international superstar and a millionaire.
Even though her career took her around the globe and made her a multi-millionaire, Susan Boyle has always remained honest, down-to-earth, and genuinely caring.
Unlike many other celebrities, she has never flashed her cash; the humble singer still lives in her childhood home in Blackburn, Scotland.
She purchased the modest house in 2010.

”It’s best to be grounded and with your roots. It keeps you grounded and prevents you from saying things maybe you shouldn’t say,” she told OK!.
Susan Boyle was born on April 1, 1961. Her parents – Patrick Boyle, a miner, WWII veteran, and singer, and Bridget, a shorthand typist – were both immigrants from County Donegal, Ireland. Boyle grew up as the youngest of four brothers and six sisters.
The family lived in a council house in West Lothian, Scotland. Still to this day, Susan lives in that house.
She could have done anything, gone anywhere, bought a mansion in Beverly Hills, but instead, she returned to her childhood home, a four-bedroom ex-council house in Blackburn, Scotland, bought it, and turned it into the home of her dreams.
In a tour of her newly decorated abode, which she’s called home for 60 years now, she reveals her stunning new piano room which is the first thing you see when you enter her home.
She joked about her piano room as she said she’d only just started having lessons.
“That’s a giggle for a start because I can’t even do scales,” she joked.
The newly renovated kitchen used to be small and sparse with a table in the center near the oven which she said made it hazardous, but the renovation gives her a lot more space and many updates. It even has a framed photo of Susan meeting Pope Francis.
Her living room is bright and homey and full of pictures of her family. Susan is the youngest child of 7 brothers and sisters so originally her house occupied 9 people. It must feel a lot roomier now.
As you move through the home, you see her career documented in various framed awards and accolades along with many cute animal ornaments, a testament to her gentle nature and down-to-earth personality.
Upstairs Susan shows us what used to be the room she once shared with her two sisters which then became hers after her sisters left home. She recalls the record player that used to sit in the corner and how she was a huge fan of The Osmonds.
Her father died in the 1990s by which time her brothers and sisters had all left home. Susan stayed at home and cared for her elderly mother until her death in 2007 so the household’s precious memories for the superstar.
“Some people seem surprised that I choose to stay in my family home. Why shouldn’t I? I feel Mum is still here and there are so many good memories … I’ve spent most of my life in this house and I won’t move now, because I feel it’s part of my new history,” she said.
Susan has always been open about the fact that she wants to meet the love of her life and find a long-term partner. That person will of course move into her house – because Susan is not leaving.
While SuBo is patiently waiting to meet ”Mr Right”, there is something else that has been bothering her for a while. Susan has always wanted to be a mother and have children of her own.
”I’ve never had any of my own, that’s my biggest regret, but I love kids. They’re good fun to be with,” she told The Sun.
As a 60-year-old woman, time is not exactly on her side. But Susan has opened up on perhaps adopting or becoming a foster parent for children who need a safe and loving home.
“I’ve a lovely house, why not share it?” she said.
Susan’s home reminds us all that despite her overnight stardom she’s still an everyday person who chooses to live the quiet life in the only home she’s ever known.
But Ellie was ready to take on her dream project, and she started by scraping the floors.
Her father and brother are both expert renovators, and they were close at hand to help and guide her.
After scraping the floors and removing the rot, it was time to start decorating.
The first thing Ellie wanted to change was the color of the camper.
She wanted it to give her own style, so she painted it a bright, beautiful blue called “mystic sea.”
Now, it was time to tackle the inside.
Ellie painted it a peachy color and accented it with aqua blue.
Ellie also laid down a brand new floor.
Gone were the old tiles from the 70s, and in were fresh, new wood-patterned ones.
Now, it was time for Ellie to bring in decorations.
At this point, even Ellie’s grandmother got involved, sewing curtains, towels, and pillow cases.
In the space of one summer, Ellie turned the camper into her own private getaway — and it’s barely recognizable in the before and after pictures.
Isn’t it impressive that a 14-year-old was able to pull off this project? Impressive!
While she was working on the project, Ellie got advice and guidance from her loved ones, who wanted to help her with her summer project.
And of course, they had a standing invitation to visit her in her camper.
“I have never told her that she couldn’t do anything. She has always been an out-of-the-box thinker. I don’t want her to ever feel she has to color inside the lines. I want her to color the entire page!” says Ellie’s mom, Lori.
Talk about doing something constructive over summer vacation! Awesome job, Ellie!
Please share if you also think that Ellie deserves two thumbs up for her great work!

Before Alexander entered her life, Cher had experienced several high-profile relationships. Alongside her marriages to Gregg Allman and Sonny Bono, Cher also had a connection with actor Tom Cruise in the mid-1980s.
Cher and Tom, who was a young actor at the time, first met at Madonna’s wedding in 1985. In later years, Cher fondly recalled Tom as one of her “top-five” lovers, describing him as a wonderful but shy young man who didn’t have much money.

In a move that has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, CBS has inked a groundbreaking $1 billion contract with Jay Leno, heralding the iconic comedian’s return to the late-night television landscape. This bold decision not only underscores CBS’s commitment to reclaiming its stake in the late-night ratings war but also signals a significant shift in the network’s strategy, betting big on Leno’s enduring appeal to viewers across generations.
Jay Leno, whose name is synonymous with late-night television thanks to his two-decade tenure on “The Tonight Show,” is stepping back into the spotlight at a time when the landscape of late-night TV is more competitive and fragmented than ever. With a plethora of options ranging from traditional network shows to streaming platform specials, capturing and sustaining viewer attention has become an increasingly daunting task for broadcasters.
The $1 billion deal, an almost unprecedented sum in the realm of television contracts, illustrates the confidence CBS has in Leno’s ability to not only draw in viewers but also to revitalize the network’s late-night offerings. Leno’s brand of humor, characterized by its accessibility and broad appeal, is seen as a key asset in this endeavor. CBS executives are betting that Leno’s return will not only woo nostalgic fans of “The Tonight Show” but also attract a new generation of viewers looking for a mix of humor, celebrity interviews, and the unique charm that Leno brings to the table.
This strategic move by CBS comes at a time when the network is looking to differentiate itself in a crowded market. Late-night television has evolved significantly since Leno’s departure, with hosts like Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, and Jimmy Kimmel reshaping the genre with their distinct comedic styles and approaches to topical content. By bringing Leno back into the fold, CBS is signaling its intention to blend traditional late-night elements with fresh, innovative content that resonates with today’s audience.
The announcement of the deal has sparked a flurry of reactions from industry insiders and viewers alike. Some express excitement at the prospect of Leno’s return, citing his proven track record and enduring popularity as reasons to be optimistic about the future of CBS’s late-night lineup. Others, however, question whether Leno’s style of comedy will be as effective in engaging a modern audience that has grown accustomed to the more varied and often edgier offerings of his successors.
Moreover, the financial aspects of the deal raise interesting questions about the economics of late-night television. A $1 billion investment represents a significant gamble in an era where traditional TV viewership is on the decline, and streaming services continue to disrupt the entertainment landscape. Analysts are keenly watching to see how this bold move will pay off in terms of advertising revenue, ratings, and overall network prestige.
Leno’s return is not just a personal triumph but also a testament to his lasting influence on the genre of late-night television. Throughout his career, Leno has been known for his work ethic, dedication to his craft, and ability to connect with a wide range of guests and topics. These qualities will be crucial as he navigates the challenges of making a successful comeback in a rapidly changing media environment.
In preparation for the launch of the new show, CBS and Leno are reportedly planning a series of innovative segments, high-profile guest appearances, and cross-platform promotional activities aimed at generating buzz and building anticipation. The network is also investing in digital content strategies to complement the traditional broadcast, recognizing the importance of engaging viewers across multiple platforms.
As the countdown to Jay Leno’s late-night return begins, the television industry is watching closely to see how this bold experiment will unfold. Will Leno’s comeback redefine late-night TV and bring CBS to the forefront of the ratings race? Or will it serve as a cautionary tale about the challenges of adapting to a new era of entertainment consumption?
Regardless of the outcome, CBS’s decision to sign a $1 billion deal with Jay Leno marks a significant moment in television history. It is a declaration of the network’s ambitions, a reflection of the enduring appeal of a late-night legend, and a fascinating case study in the dynamics of contemporary media. As Leno prepares to step back into the late-night arena, the industry and viewers alike await with bated breath to see if this gamble will indeed pay off, heralding a new golden age for CBS’s late-night programming.
ABC’s CEO, Kim Williams, made a startling admission recently, declaring that the creation of “The View” stands as one of humanity’s most significant errors. This bold statement has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and sparked intense debate among viewers and media pundits alike.
“The View,” a daytime talk show featuring a panel of women discussing current events and hot topics, has been a staple of ABC’s programming for decades. Launched in 1997, the show has provided a platform for lively debates, celebrity interviews, and political discussions. However, its polarizing nature and sometimes controversial commentary have also made it a lightning rod for criticism.
Williams’ remarks came during an industry conference where she reflected on ABC’s programming decisions over the years. While acknowledging the show’s longevity and cultural impact, Williams expressed regret over its overall contribution to society.
“In hindsight, ‘The View’ may not have been the wisest endeavor,” Williams remarked. “While it has certainly generated viewership and revenue for the network, it has also perpetuated divisiveness and sensationalism in the media landscape.”
Williams’ candid assessment has prompted soul-searching within ABC and reignited conversations about the role of daytime talk shows in shaping public discourse. Some industry insiders have applauded her honesty, while others have criticized her for denigrating a show that has been a source of empowerment for women and a platform for diverse voices.
“The View” has weathered its share of controversies over the years, including heated arguments among its hosts, guest appearances by controversial figures, and accusations of biased reporting. Despite these challenges, the show has remained a ratings juggernaut and a fixture of daytime television.
However, Williams’ comments suggest a growing recognition within ABC of the need to reassess the network’s priorities and values. As media consumption habits evolve and societal norms shift, networks like ABC face mounting pressure to strike a balance between entertainment, information, and social responsibility.
The future of “The View” remains uncertain in light of Williams’ remarks. While the show continues to attract a loyal audience and generate advertising revenue, its long-term viability may hinge on its ability to adapt to changing audience tastes and expectations.
In conclusion, Kim Williams’ bold declaration regarding “The View” underscores a broader conversation about the role of media in society and the responsibility of networks like ABC to prioritize integrity and inclusivity in their programming. While “The View” has undeniably left its mark on daytime television and provided a platform for diverse perspectives, Williams’ acknowledgment of its shortcomings signals a crucial moment of reflection for the industry.
As audiences demand more authenticity, transparency, and accountability from media outlets, networks must grapple with the ethical implications of their content choices. The future of “The View” and similar programs hinges on their ability to evolve with the times, engaging viewers in meaningful dialogue while navigating the complexities of contemporary discourse.
Ultimately, Williams’ candid assessment serves as a catalyst for introspection and innovation within ABC and the broader media landscape. By embracing a commitment to responsible journalism, ethical storytelling, and genuine representation, networks can pave the way for a more informed, empathetic, and inclusive media environment.

Meanwhile, Musk has remained characteristically unapologetic in the face of criticism, doubling down on his company’s mission to push the boundaries of innovation and technology. “We will continue to strive for excellence and push the envelope of what is possible,” he declared in a statement following the incident.
