Actors Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson have some of Hollywood’s long-lasting marriages and have been referred to as “king and queen of the ball.” Hanks once told millions of people on national TV that the woman in his life had taught and showed him what love meant on a daily.

In February 1996, acclaimed actor Tom Hanks earned his second Best Actor Oscar Award at the Academy Awards. He gave a heart-warming acceptance speech which included his beautiful wife, actress Rita Wilson.

With 81 million viewers tuned in to the program, Hanks revealed how Wilson’s presence had impacted his life, sharing that he knows what love is because of her.

“I’m standing here because the woman I share my life with has taught me and demonstrates to me every day just what love is,” said the filmmaker.

“Apollo 13” producer Brian Grazer revealed how head over heels the couple was. “They are madly in love. They are king and queen of the ball,” he stated.

Hanks and Wilson’s romance started with a crush he had on her in 1972. The “Cast Away” star first saw the singer on “The Brady Bunch.”

Wilson made her acting debut on the American sitcom as cheerleader Pat Conway and apparently, 16-year-old Hanks fell in love with her pom-pom skills. He told reporters at the 2016 New York City premiere of “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2” what he thought of his future wife:

“I was actually at a friend of mine’s house when it aired, and I remember thinking, ‘that girl’s cute.’”

However, Hanks did not act on his feelings until the mid-1980s. The universe brought the pair together when they met on the set of the ABC TV series, “Bosom Buddies,” in 1981 that he starred in for two seasons.

Wilson appeared as a guest on an episode about a video dating service, and Hanks instantly felt a connection between them. Hanks asked her whether she felt it too:

“Rita and I just looked at each other and –kaboing, that was that. I asked Rita if it was the real thing for her, and it just couldn’t be denied.”

Once again, their lives crossed paths when they were cast in their first film together in 1985 in “Volunteers.” After filming ended, Hanks raved about Wilson, saying when they first locked eyes, they internally knew they were in the right place, emphasizing that he felt it:

“I think the result is that we got married for all the right reasons.”

Even then, Wilson and Hanks remained friends. At the time, he was still legally married to Samantha Lewes, with whom he welcomed two children, but they divorced in 1987. Sadly, Lewes died in 2002 from bone cancer.

Nonetheless, Hanks and Wilson went public with their relationship in December 1986 during his separation from Lewes. The “Greyhound” star told UK Express that he was looking for something he had never found as a child. Hanks explained that being in a broken marriage meant he would be sentencing his kids to what he experienced as a child. He was only 23 and was insecure about marriage.

However, he walked down the aisle for the second time when he wed Wilson in April 1988. Since then, Hanks revealed the success of their union was a matter of timing, maturity, and willingness to explore their connection.

In an interview with Oprah Winfrey in September 2001, the media mogul asked him whether he would have been ready for matrimony if he married Wilson first.

Deemed a cultural icon, Hanks said that he knew he had to change when he married his lovely spouse. They had to discover each other, and he noted their relationship was not perfect like in the movies:

“In real life, our connection is as concrete as me sitting here. Not that marriage doesn’t come close to being hell in a handbasket sometimes. But we both know that no matter what, we’ll be with each other and we’ll get through it.”

Hanks disputed the notion that marriage takes hard work. “No, it’s not,” he said while explaining that from time to time, one needs to get over some things and that life has its challenges.

The Hollywood leading man added that it was pleasing to go home with someone he liked to spend time with and get on with everything else.

Hanks has four children, two from his first marriage and another two from his union with Wilson. The couple welcomed their first child together, Chet, in August 1990.

Chet is a rapper and an actor who has struggled with substance addiction. But after going into rehab, he became sober. Since getting his life together, Chet bagged a recurring role in “Empire.”

Hank and Wilson’s youngest son is Truman, who arrived in December 1995. Though he has kept a relatively low profile, his IMBD credits suggest he has his eyes set on showbusiness. Truman was a production assistant on the 2018 film “The Cloverfield Paradox” and the 2019 remake of “Charlie’s Angels.”

Hanks has two older children, son Colin and daughter Elizabeth, with his late ex-wife Lewes. His eldest son Colin is the spitting image of him and the most popular of all the siblings.

Colin followed in his father’s footsteps when he made his acting debut in “Get Over It” and “Orange County” before starring in “Dexter” and “Fargo.”

Meanwhile, his sister Elizabeth is an LA-based writer who worked as a Vanity Fair staffer and a HuffPost associate news editor. She has also contributed to Time and The New York Times. The brunette beauty has an English degree.

In February 2022, her younger brother Chet dropped a bombshell when he criticized their father’s parenting skills. The musician claimed he did not have a “strong male role model” as he struggled with having famous parents during his teenage years.

Though he assured fans that he had nothing but love for his parents and would not trade them for anything, Chet confessed that coming from a well-known family is a “double-edged sword.”

He said many people derided him for being a movie star’s child. While trying to maneuver through the situation, he realized that he needed a firm role model who could have told him to ignore the naysayers because they were jealous of him.

Moreover, he revealed that Hanks and Wilson did not give him an allowance growing up, adding people assumed that he lived a privileged life which was the opposite.

In September 2015, his brother Colin appeared on “NotSam” and revealed that he gave him advice as the older sibling. Colin stated his younger brother should think twice about his actions.

The movie star acknowledged that Chet was a grown man who would do whatever he wanted and that as his big brother, he loves him, supports him, and wants him to be happy.

In December 2016, Chet took to Instagram to reveal that he had fathered a daughter named Machaiah after numerous media speculations. He shares his child with Tiffany Miles.

The California native said his child was the best thing that has ever happened to him and the main reason why he turned on a new leaf:

“I do have a daughter. She’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. She’s the reason why I turned my life around and got sober. I’ve been sober for over a year and a half from everything.”

In June 2018, Chet told Entertainment Tonight that his parents had supported his sobriety journey: “Every step of the way. They’ve always been there for me, and I’m lucky,” he said.

He also shared his mom and dad enjoyed being his daughter’s grandparents. The father of one loves seeing them grandparenting because he was close with his grandparents, and now his child gets to have the same experience. Chet revealed his parents always offer to babysit the little one all the time.

Wilson and Hanks became grandparents for the first time when Colin and his wife Samantha Bryant welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Olivia, in 2011. Even as a grandfather, Hanks revealed he still played with his kids’ toys:

“I play with toys all the time. I play with goofy things my kids still have like cars and planes, and I hold them and imagine the same stories I did when I was a kid.”

Colin and Bryant had a second child Charlotte in 2013. In March 2019, the “Untraceable” star revealed his kids had no idea that their grandfather was famous. “They don’t care about him at all,” he joked.

Colin explained his daughters had no interest in their father’s fame and that anytime they spent time with his dad, it was like any other playdate with a grandparent. In an interview with ET, Wilson and Hanks talked about their experience as grandparents.

She revealed they are cool grandparents, and Hanks echoed the same sentiments stating they were the coolest grandma and grandpa. In addition, being with his grandkids meant no TV, no book, or radio because they entertained him.

Wilson added, “Sometimes they look at us like, ‘What?’ Could you imagine being like ‘Grandpa, Tom Hanks, stop being so silly!’” she said.

The couple became grandparents for the third time when Chet welcomed Machaiah. Her existence resulted from Chet’s “drug-fueled one-night stand” with Miles, who won full custody of their child.

Nonetheless, a source revealed Hanks and Wilson fell in love with their biracial granddaughter. “They adore that baby and even spent Halloween with her. She will always be loved and taken care of by the Hanks family.”

“Roseanne” star Roseanne Barr, 70, returned to Hollywood nearly five years after she was fired and “lost everything.”

She looks fantastic with long hair and makeup in a photo after flirting with Rihanna’s boyfriend, A$AP Rocky.

Barr revealed how TV daughter Sara Gilbert “destroyed” her life.

Roseanne Barr, the face of the hit show “Roseanne,” made a comeback. After a long time away from the spotlight, the actress has made her way back to Hollywood with a new comedy show titled, “Roseanne Barr: Cancel This!”

The actress also had some more excellent news after a new documentary on her long and intricate career was released. The return to show business comes after she made an insensitive comment about Valerie Jarrett, a presidential adviser back in 2018.

The comedy actress opened up after being canceled in 2018, saying she “lost everything.” The ordeal came just as her highly successful TV show was starting its reboot. After the comment, however, television executives decided the best course of action would be to cancel the reboot just as it started airing.

Barr also said it felt like a personal attack on her after her character was killed off.

But Barr refused to lie down. She opened up about the years after 2018, saying it was discouraging to be silenced wherever she went. She asked the studio executives for a chance to apologize and explain her actions, but they refused. She mentioned, “And they denied me the right to apologize.”

Luckily, Barr has gotten back up again and is being open about her experiences between 2018 and now. She has taken a step back from Twitter, investing in her Instagram presence instead. And fans have shown their support, saying, “You look fabulous Roseanne.”

Many users took to Barr’s comment section to show their support after the 70-year-old revealed her “makeup & long hair” look. One said, “You look absolutely AMAZING!!!!” In line with her new-found confidence, Barr sent A$AP Rocky a message, saying, “Call me when you get tired of Rihanna.”

Sara Gilbert, who played Barr’s on-screen daughter in “Roseanne,” also commented on the explosive Tweet.

Barr posed with her new hairdo and nails, smiling broadly in an Instagram post. She looked extremely happy to be back after the controversy, and Instagram users complimented her on the interview where the photo was taken.

How Did Roseanne Barr Feel after She Was Canceled?

Losing her job and being vilified by many people who used to be her fans and co-workers took its toll on Barr. She mentioned that she felt utterly alone. She noted it seemed to her as if she was being attacked from all sides by people who were jealous of her and who wanted to see her fall.

Gilbert was a considerable driving force behind the show’s reboot, and she corresponded with Barr to ensure she wanted to be a part of it.

Barr also said it felt like a personal attack on her after her character was killed off. To her, it was a message saying they didn’t want her around anymore and a direct dismissal of the work she did over the years. She commented:

“I’m the only person who’s lost everything, whose life’s work was stolen, stolen by people who I thought loved me.”

Although she has survived being canceled, Barr mentioned it was a terrible time. She described it as a “witch-burning” and as “terrifying” times in her life, noting, “I would die many times.” Although she’s glad to be back, she surely won’t forget the ordeal anytime soon.

What Did Sara Gilbert Do before Barr’s Cancellation?

After Barr’s controversial comments, numerous prominent Hollywood figures took to social media to show their disdain for her words. Everyone from Shonda Rhimes to congressman John Lewis criticized her, accusing her of being insensitive and urging her to apologize for what she said. But one accusatory comment left a deeper mark than the rest.

Sara Gilbert, who played Barr’s on-screen daughter in “Roseanne,” also commented on the explosive Tweet. Gilbert was a considerable driving force behind the show’s reboot, and she corresponded with Barr to ensure she wanted to be a part of it.

After Barr’s Tweet, however, Gilbert took to Instagram to express that the showrunners and the rest of the staff didn’t share the views expressed in the Tweet. Gilbert called the Tweet “abhorrent,” and mentioned that the TV show does not reflect what was implied in the Tweet. Barr responded to Gilbert’s statement:

“She destroyed the show and my life with that tweet. She will never get enough until she consumes my liver with a fine Chianti.”

Although Barr credited Gilbert’s statement for a large part of her downfall, Gilbert replied that her intentions were never to harm the actress. Instead, she mentioned that the show’s ending was heartbreaking for her, and she will always think of Barr as family.

Michael Strahan has been through a lot, including two failed marriages and a very messy divorce. But many years later, the former football player is in a happy relationship and, most importantly, spends quality time with his kids. Here are the details of his ordeal.

Michael Strahan has successfully climbed the ladder of fame and fortune as a television personality and journalist. However, before his entertainment career began, he thrived as a professional football player for the New York Giants of the NFL.

Strahan has witnessed many good times in his lifetime, but like every other person, he has also dealt with difficult situations, especially in his love life.

The “Good Morning America” co-anchor has been quite unfortunate in his romantic escapades. He has tied the knot twice, but sadly, both marriages have ended as failures.

Strahan’s first marriage was to Wanda Hutchins from 1992 to 1996, while his second marriage to Jean Muggli lasted for seven years, from 1999 to 2006. Over the years, the former NFL star has spoken candidly about how challenging his divorces were. During a 2016 chat with People, Strahan confessed:

“Personally, getting divorced is probably one of toughest things I’ve ever gone through, but it was also a learning experience, and I learned a lot about myself.”

The journalist further noted that his divorces made him realize he was a strong man. According to Strahan, he drew strength to deal with the difficulties of his fatherhood. In his words:

“My kids give me strength. I love being with kids. To me, it’s all about family, now more than anything.”

The father of four knew he had to stay strong for his tender kids, and even though it was a frightening ordeal, he always spoke positive words to himself.

Looking back at everything that had happened, including his children, Strahan revealed that his positivity paid off, adding that it was one of the most fulfilling times of his life.

Details of Michael Strahan’s Messy Divorce
Although Strahan has been through two failed marriages, his second divorce will always be one he will remember due to how messy it was.

Strahan says that away from the big screen, he is a quiet type, and the huge attention makes him embarrassed and uneasy.

The 2006 battle with Jean Muggli saw the former professional football player on the losing end. Following the finalization of the divorce proceedings, the judge ordered Strahan to pay his ex-wife a whopping $15.3 million. In addition to the huge sum, Muggli received $18,000 monthly in child support from the entertainment icon.

Furthermore, she was awarded primary custody of their two daughters, while Strahan was granted only visitation rights. Indeed, it was a tough time, especially for the TV personality, but things would only worsen.

In September 2019, years after the couple finalized their divorce, Muggli filed a lawsuit in New York, demanding an increase in the monthly child support. While the case was still ongoing in court, Strahan made new allegations about his ex-wife.

According to reports, the former couple had initially agreed to use a parenting coordinator. However, Strahan claimed that Muggli was intentionally doing things to increase the PC’s involvement, thereby causing an increment in the PC’s fees.

For example, the anchor alleged that Muggli went back on their plan to enroll their teenage twin daughters in a school in North Carolina, which caused the PC to intervene.

Also, Strahan claimed that his ex-wife was “uncooperative in scheduling his visitation” with their kids, causing the PC to make the visitation schedule herself. According to the PC, their co-parenting had become “time-consuming, full of conflict and unrealistic.”

Strahan desired that the court intervene and order a 50-50 split of the PC’s fees, which could solve the alleged problems.

But in 2020, the anchor decided it was best for him to be awarded primary custody of his girls. So, he contested the previous custody arrangements because Muggli was physically and emotionally abusing their daughters. However, in October 2020, the case was dismissed with prejudice, as the ex-couple reached a joint child custody agreement.

Michael Strahan’s Relationship with His Daughters
Almost two years after the custody agreement, Strahan is relishing his time with his girls, as he did not let the battle affect his relationship with them. According to him:

“It wasn’t like, ‘Okay, we split, now I’m gonna write a check and send it to your mom every month, and Daddy will see you down the road.”

The proud dad is grateful to have access to his daughters, and despite his busy schedule, Strahan always makes time for them.

Whenever they were in school, he would get on a plane and see them in North Carolina; whenever they were on a break, they would fly down to New York to be with him

Strahan says his children have a different upbringing than he did; nevertheless, the love is no different. Meanwhile, the journalist’s twins, Isabella and Sophia, make their dad prouder daily.

In April 2022, Isabella launched her modeling career, walking the runway for Sherri Hill’s Bridal and Evening Fashion Show. It was a memorable moment for the young model and her doting dad.

Michael Strahan’s Choice to Keep His Personal Life Private
After being in the news several times due to his romantic involvements, Strahan has decided to keep his love life away from the public eye. According to the starlet, he has “done the public relationship, and it doesn’t work.”

Strahan says that away from the big screen, he is a quiet type, and the huge attention makes him embarrassed and uneasy. But despite how private the anchor wants his love life to be, there is no hiding that he is dating Model Kayla Quick.

The lovebirds have reportedly been together since 2015 and keep waxing stronger by the day. Reports have also revealed that Quick shares a close bond with her boyfriend’s children.

Fans could not be more pleased to see Strahan in a happy place after everything he has been through. Hopefully, he and Quick’s love will not end anytime soon.

  • Don Johnson from the hit show “Miami Vice” had a tough childhood.
  • The actor escaped home when he was 16 and put himself through college.
  • He turned to drugs, alcohol, and money to fill a void of unhappiness until he met his wife, Kelly Phleger.

Don Johnson is an award-winning actor known for his role in the famous cop series “Miami Vice.” He is a self-made success who had to endure multiple hurdles to find happiness.

Starting with his childhood, Johnson said it was horrible. His father, Wayne Johnson, was only 19, and his mother, Nell, was 17 when he was born.

He grew up poor and around abuse. By the time he was 12, his parents had divorced, and at 16, Johnson was so unhappy that he decided to leave home.

Johnson roamed the streets alone and had to put himself through high school. But despite his lonesome life, he managed to make a success out of himself.

However, after amassing fame and all the luxuries he could possess, Johnson still felt something missing in his life—happiness. He also discovered that he was never able to let go of the fear his parents instilled in him through their “corporal punishments.”

Therefore, Johnson resorted to alcohol, drugs, and women. He might have thought that 20 cars, boats, and a ranch in Aspen, Colorado, were all he longed for, but he admitted, “I was intensely unhappy.”

As much as Johnson admitted that he developed an alcohol problem, he never drank at work, but as soon as he wrapped his day, he would drink to the point of no return.

The actor went through multiple marriages, with some that only lasted days. He married Melanie Griffith twice and had romances with Cybill Shepard, Barbara Streisand, and Patti D’Arbanville. This is not including the countless flings and one-night stands. He welcomed his daughter Dakota Johnson with Griffith and a son, Jesse, with D’Arbanville.

Falling in Love with a Teacher

Luckily for Johnson, he met someone who would inspire him to improve his life and fill his void of unhappiness. The actor was at the city mayor Willie Brown’s birthday party when he crossed eyes with Kelly Phleger. He described her as “a woman of substance” he had to get to know.

The two married in 1999, and that same year, they welcomed their daughter Grace, then two sons, Jasper, two years later, and Deacon, four years after.

Johnson had found the happiness he was looking for with Phleger, so much so that he decided to stop drinking. His epiphany came when he was on a trip with his friends.

They walked into a restaurant, and there was a scene of a Madonna and child eating breakfast playing on TV. That’s when it hit Johnson how lucky he was to have created such a loving family. But it was not only the alcohol that he gave up but the material things he held onto, like the 20 cars and boats he owned.

Johnson considers himself lucky to have married his current wife, thus, he joked, “I had a rare moment of clarity and asked this woman to marry me, and I still think she’s under a spell. And so I beg of you not to snap your fingers because God knows what will happen if she ever comes to.”

The “The Book Club” star realized that he hid behind smoking and his luxury items, but he did not need them anymore because he was only using them to impress women.

The actor expressed that he attached his value to his assets, but “Through training, spirituality, and education, you come to know that you are enough, and you don’t need anything extra.”

Above all else, Johnson is grateful to have survived his wild days. After “Miami Vice,” he starred in “Nash Bridges.” Things were a bit slow for him after the series ended, but now he’s back in demand and has been part of successful projects like “The Book Club” and “Django Unchained.”

But before all this, he came close to losing his career. He revealed that after he had his son, Jesse, he was out of shape from alcohol and drugs. Every time he showed up for an audition, people thought his career had reached its limit, so he worked hard to get back into shape.

Now that Johnson has worked on himself, he’s devoted to becoming the best father to his children and making up for some of the missed moments, especially with his older children.

Don Speaks about His Family in His 70s

Johnson is now 74 years old and still happily married. He is also the biggest family man. After a long day on set, the actor said he looks most forward to being with his children.

He also acknowledges that he was not always there for his older children, Jesse and Dakota, and a source revealed that he was doing his best to make up for lost time.

Since he has many children, he spends a lot of time visiting them individually, but he also loves to take walks in nature with his beautiful wife.

Additionally, because Johnson experienced firsthand the influence of drugs on one’s life, he has made it his life’s mission to warn young people about them and how they can destroy lives.

Johnson has come a long way to find happiness which is at its peak. He now simply enjoys the company of his loving wife and children, who have all made him proud.

Paris Hilton Defends Her Baby Boy Against Online TrollsNegative Comments Spark OutrageParis Hilton, who became a first-time mom in February, has been delighting her followers with adorable photos of her 8-month-old son, Phoenix. However, some online users began making derogatory comments about the baby’s head size. Hilton was quick to respond and stand up for her child.

“While living life in the spotlight, comments are inevitable, but targeting my child is unacceptable. This hurts my heart more than words can describe,” Hilton said.Addressing the Critics on InstagramHilton took to her Instagram Story to call out the negative remarks, labeling them as “unacceptable.” She emphasized the emotional toll these comments take, both on her and potentially on any parent subjected to such scrutiny.
“I’ve worked hard to create an environment based on love, respect, and acceptance, and I expect the same in return,” she explained. The Double-Edged Sword of Public Sharing

Hilton pointed out the dilemma she faces when sharing moments of her life online. She feels judged no matter what she chooses to do—whether it’s keeping her child’s life private or sharing it with the public.“If I don’t share pictures of my baby, people assume I’m not a good mother. And if I do share, there are some who are unkind and hateful,” she remarked.A Mother’s Love and A Call for KindnessIn her statement, Hilton also touched on her joy and pride in being a mother, describing Phoenix as her world and the greatest blessing in her life.“Every day with him reminds me of what truly matters. It’s disheartening to think that there are people out there who would target such innocence,” Hilton added. She ended her message by advocating for greater kindness and empathy online, especially when it involves innocent children.A Universal Message

While Paris Hilton is no stranger to public scrutiny, her message underscores an essential point: the boundaries that should exist when it comes to criticizing children, regardless of their parents’ fame.“I hope that people can treat one another with more kindness and empathy,” she concluded.Hilton’s plea highlights the need for greater decency in online interactions, urging us to think before we type and reminding us of the human beings behind each social media account.

The marital manual was literally written by Marlo Thomas and Phil Donahue.
The long-married pair shares personal details of their marriage in their book, What Makes a Marriage Las: 40 Celebrated Couples Share with Us the Secrets.

Marlo most intriguingly discloses that, despite having been married to Phil for more than 40 years, she grew up with little interest in being married.

In the book, the celebrity shared her formerly pessimistic viewpoint on the institution: “Marriage is like a vacuum cleaner: you stick it to your ear, and it sucks out all your energy and ambition.”

Thomas expresses her sentiments often, comparing marriage to being a prisoner that one must appease. Until she met Donahue, that is.

After Phil Donahue’s first marriage ended in divorce, Marlo Thomas and Phil Donahue both met one another, and now they are lifelong friends.

Phil Donahue rose to fame in the public eye with his show, “The Phil Donahue Show,” which was later rebranded as just “Donahue.” The program featured audience participation for the first time and ran for 29 years. Marlo Thomas was one of the guests on his show who completely altered the course of his life.

According to the book, the pair first met in Chicago in 1977, and Phil brought four youngsters with him. A daughter, his fifth kid, resided somewhere else with his ex-wife and her mother.

Prior to getting married in 1980 in front of a small wedding party of 35 guests, Marlo and Phil dated for three years.

Unsurprisingly, the actress’s change of heart startled Marlo’s friends and family. In the couple’s book, a comical incident is told about Marlo’s bridal shower, where guests hung comments from the future bride that revealed her former opinions on marriage.

According to the novel, Marlo’s mom was more surprised than anyone, asking Donahue “How did you get her to do this?” throughout the couple’s wedding.

Even complete strangers reportedly expressed disbelief, among other feelings, at the celebrity social activist’s choice to settle down. On the flight the couple flew to their honeymoon in Greece, a passenger expressed dissatisfaction to Marlo while Phil was in the restroom, apparently upset that she had given up her former independent streak.

In the book, Thomas is forthright and admits that a seed of uncertainty was planted during this exchange. Was she now a hypocrite for getting married if she had spent so much of her life criticizing marriage? Had she disappointed those who looked up to her as the epitome of independence?

Donahue and Thomas make their marriage work to this day, despite the typical ups-and-sowns they refer to in the book when covering their lengthy marriage. They cite these issues as learning experiences that helped them to strengthen their bond.

Even early in their marriage, the couple spent time apart while Phil taped his show in Chicago and Marlo traveled for her own acting career.

When Thomas’ aunt remarked that the couple’s union was invalid because they weren’t completely cohabitating, Thomas was better able to see how different people define marriage.Thomas and Donahue were able to maintain their marriage despite their separation. Importantly, Marlo also gained children when she married.

Thomas reminisced on what it was like to assist Phil in raising his children in a 2012 interview with AARP, saying she went into it knowing that they already had a traditional mother and that would not be her role.

Instead, Marlo says that in attempt to emulate her own mother’s parenting, she started to treat Phil’s kids more like friends. She goes on to claim that she feels closer to them now than she did when the marriage first began.

Donahue notes that Thomas did in fact spend as much time as she could in the talk getting to know his sons and trying to comprehend the boys in the book.

Phil and Marlo think their lengthy marriage is due to their faith in one another, in addition to her close relationship with his children. Marlo clarifies, “You build trust when you realize that this person always has your back.”

They still have more memories to create after having been married for more than 40 years.

Phil continues by saying that for a marriage to endure, both partners must want it to. Marlo agrees with him and adds that she would never want to be anything other than wedded to her boyfriend. According to her, Donohue has helped her in “every way possible.”

Marriage is a beautiful union that is made much more beautiful when two individuals genuinely commit to it.

We can all learn a lot from and be inspired by this duo. We should all aspire to be in a relationship that is as fulfilling as theirs!

Despite the incredible success and achievements throughout his life and career, Paul Newman carried two profound regrets, both of which were deeply personal rather than professional.

Paul Newman’s life was filled with remarkable accomplishments. From 1953 to 2007, he enjoyed a prolific career as an actor, earning numerous accolades, including an Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in “The Color of Money” (1986). He received multiple Oscar nominations over the years, solidifying his status as one of Hollywood’s most celebrated actors

Newman had two marriages. His first marriage, to Jacqueline Witte, lasted from 1949 to 1958, and they had three children together, including Newman’s only son. He later married Joanne Woodward in 1958, and their union endured until his passing in 2008. The couple had three daughters together, making Newman the father of six children in total.

In addition to his acting career, Newman founded the Newman’s Own Foundation in 1982. This charitable organization sells food products and donates all of its profits directly to various causes. Over the years, the foundation has contributed a remarkable $570 million to charitable endeavors.

However, despite all his success, Newman harbored two significant regrets in life, and they were related to his family.

The first regret centered around his relationship with his father. Newman’s connection with his father was strained, and he felt that his father viewed him as a failure before his Hollywood stardom. Reflecting on his early days, Newman said, “I think he thought I didn’t show much promise in those days, and I tend to agree with him.

” Sadly, his father passed away before witnessing his son’s immense success, leaving Newman with the regret that his father had gone to his grave thinking of him as a failure.

The second regret concerned his relationship with his only son, Scott. Scott spent most of his life in the custody of Newman’s first wife, Jacqueline Witte. He faced a troubled upbringing, had difficulties in school, and eventually dropped out of college

Scott also ventured into acting and stunt work, but he struggled in the shadow of his famous father. In one candid moment, Scott expressed his challenges, stating, “They expect you to be like him, or they try to get to him through me … but I don’t have his blue eyes. I don’t have his talent. I don’t have anything that’s me.”

Tragically, Scott’s life was marked by alcoholism, prescription medication use due to a motorcycle accident, and other substance abuse issues. These factors ultimately contributed to his accidental overdose and untimely death in 1978 at the age of 28. Newman deeply regretted that he and his son hadn’t been closer.

He later revealed, “I knew he drank too much and [medicated] himself, but I didn’t know how to open a door into him. I don’t think I ever hugged Scott or patted him on the arm or back or rump — the things fathers do.”

Following his son’s passing, Newman took action to honor Scott’s memory. In 1980, he established the Scott Newman Foundation, which is dedicated to providing education about substance abuse, aiming to prevent others from experiencing the same tragic fate.

These two profound regrets, related to his father and son, added a deeply personal and poignant dimension to the life of an actor known for his professional success and philanthropic endeavors.

  • Chuck Norris, 83, and his wife, Gena, 60, celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary on November 28, 2022.
  • Ten years ago, Gena was poisoned, and Chuck gave up his career to sleep near her hospital bedside and care for her.

On November 28, 2022, Chuck Norris, then 82, and his long-term wife, Gena, then 59, celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary!

The legendary actor marked the milestone by uploading a photo of his and Gena’s wedding day. In the caption, Chuck described his wife as his best friend and love of his life, adding that he loved her.

However, the “Walker Texas Ranger” star, who celebrated his 83rd birthday on March 10, 2023, almost didn’t get to celebrate the anniversary with his wife due to a health ailment she faced a few years ago. Due to his love for her, Chuck did everything he could to get her better.

How Did Chuck Nurse His Wife Back to Life 5 Years Ago?

During a June 2017 “Full Measure with Sharyl Attkisson,” Gena opened up about being so ill she almost died after having three MRIs in one week five years before. She revealed how a small voice told her her body was dying, and after walking out of the bathroom, Chuck looked at her, recalling:

“I saw a death in her eyes.”

At that moment, the actor knew he had to do something. The nightmare began for the couple when Gena went for three MRIs to evaluate her rheumatoid arthritis, but instead, mysterious illnesses were triggered by the machines, almost killing her.

The star’s wife shared how she spent five or six nights in the emergency room as the symptoms worsened. Gena discovered she’d been poisoned by a substance injected into her before the MRI.

Chuck took his wife for intensive treatment at a Nevada hospital, where she slowly came back to life, and then to China for alternative medicine. Recalling her experience, Gena said:

“I laid in a bed in that clinic for five months on IVs every day, and my wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, wonderful husband – who I’m so thankful for – laid on a couch next to me for five months.”

The actor read 17 books to his ailing wife during that time, dropping everything and refusing to leave her side. Gena humbly confessed how grateful she was to her husband for all he did for her then.

“The actor [Chuck Norris] noted how he became the luckiest man in the world…”

During a previous CBS News interview, Chuck shared, “My whole life is focused on keeping her as well as I could.” He explained how far he went stating, “I’ve had to give up my film career.”

The star and his wife took San Francisco’s McKesson and other drug companies into a multimillion-dollar lawsuit over the poisoning. Gena suffered brain damage, muscle wasting, and more, with her husband admitting:

“It was scaring me to death, you know, and I said, ‘it’s not nothing’s going on here she’s was dying right in front of me.’”
