Pauley Perrette left the world of crime solving on ‘NCIS’ following several distasteful incidents. Instead, she now focuses her time on comedy and helping both people and animals in need. Suffice to say, the 52-year-old has had a long and successful career.

However, everything could’ve ended a year ago when – as Perrette described it herself – she “cheated death.” Through social media, the actress revealed that she suffered a “massive” stroke, and gave her fans a new health update.Pauley Perrettte starred as Abby Sciuto on NCIS for 15 seasons. Sadly, her ending on the show was quite acrimonious.

Pauley Perrette as Abby Sciuto on ‘NCIS’In 2017, she announced she was leaving NCIS. Then, just days later, she took to Twitter, where she implied she’d left the show due to “multiple physical” offenses. According to several news outlets, Perrette and Harmon’s relationship had turned rather icy due to a dog bite on set.Via Twitter, she shared an emotional farewell:“I hope everyone will love and enjoy EVERYTHING ABBY not only for the rest of this season but for everything she has given all of us for 16 years,” Perrette wrote. “All the love, all the laughter, all the inspiration…I love her as much as you do.” Saying goodbye to a character she had played for over a decade wasn’t easy for Perrette.

Speaking with CBS Sunday Morning, the actress said she felt down about her departure from the popular show.“It makes me sad to imagine a world without Abby in it. It really makes me sad,” Perrette said.“I’m still grieving. It feels differently every day, and it’s sad. I usually cry in my car every day when I drive to work. And then I usually cry on my way home at some point. And then I take a deep breath and I go, ‘Alright’.”

In 2019, she wrote on Twitter that she was “never going back to NCIS“, adding that she was “terrified” of lead actor Mark Harmon. Is Pauley Perrette returning to ‘NCIS’?Yet though Pauley made it clear that she never wants to return to NCIS, series boss Steven D Binder suggested that there might be a way to bring back the fan favorite in the future. Binder said fans would start seeing her presence more in the coming seasons. Moreover, the showrunner added that they want to acknowledge her legacy on the show.“I’d like to start feeling her [presence] a little more.

I thought we were a little remiss in not [doing that sooner], but there are so many moving parts,” Binder said.“But she is still out there fighting the good fight and watching us, and she is a part of us and we’re a part of her.”Now, Pauley’s been through a lot during the last decade, and though she’s not defined by it, NCIS definitely played a big part in shaping her.“This show restored my faith in people, in this industry. SO GRATEFUL I worked with this cast & crew,” she wrote on Twitter. “Best people I’ve EVER worked with. Healed me. Changed me. Made me whole. So Blessed.”

Speaking with USA Today, she declined to discuss her tweets further.“That is a part of my past now, and it’s nothing that I have any need to talk about again, other than one thing: I’m certainly grateful for having the opportunity to play that character and I always will be,” she said.“ It makes me sad to imagine a world without Abby”While Perrette felt like saying goodbye to NCIS was the right thing to do, leaving a workplace where she’d spent 15 years of her life wasn’t easy.In fact, as she told CBS, Pauley was very emotional as the end of her time on the successful television show approached.

“I, like, usually cry in my car every single day when I drive to work,” she told CBS. “And I usually cry on my way home at some point. And then I take a deep breath, and I go, ‘All right,’ you know?”“It makes me sad to imagine a world without Abby in it,” Pauley continued. “It really makes me sad. … Abby made science cool and attainable for young women. And this television character did more than encourage it. It made it cool, it made it exciting, it made it fun.”At the same time, her period on the show left her with several great friends. Since last year, she’s back with the CBS Network, starring in the comedy show Broke.“Michael Weatherly [starring as Anthony DiNozzo on NCIS] is like my brother,” Perrette said.“I love him more than anything on the planet Earth. He’s awesome. And CBS is home to me.

The network and the studio has always been really, really good to me.”Pauley has proven herself to be a person who cares about others and who certainly wants to give back to the people that helped her earlier in her career.Philanthropic workThe celebrated forensic scientist studied at both Valdosta State University and John Jay College. In 2018, she shared that she’d created two scholarships to benefit female students majoring in criminal justice. She wants women to follow in Abby’s footsteps and pursue a career in science and math.“Abby is not just a TV character for people,” Perrette told People.

“These young girls have modeled their entire lives off of her. It’s like Abby has raised a couple of generations of young girls and has inspired this international phenomenon of young women going into math and science and STEM programs because she made it accessible, cool, attainable and fun.”As it turns out, not only does Paulet do plenty to help humans, but also animals. In 2013, she received the Tom Mankiewicz Leadership Award from tthe LA Zoo. Perrette supports several animal causes, and all three of her dogs are rescues.“I’m so obsessed with animals,” Perrette told the Wall Street Journal.“So much so that my [NCIS] producers started giving Abby scenes with animals.”

So what is Pauley up to now? She was back in television comedy with Broke, though that show was labeled as a “limited series.” The last episode aired in May of 2020. As of today, no new credits have been added to Pauley’s name.Pauley Perrette suffered ‘massive’ strokePerrette has plenty of experience working in comedy, having featured in both Frasier and The Drew Carey Show. So it was the perfect time for her to do a comedy show again.“It’s such a weird time for everybody,” she told USA Today. “I was already so excited about people seeing our show because it’s my favorite show I’ve ever done, so funny, sweet and awesome. But now I’m really excited in a whole other way. I feel people need this right now. It really makes people happy, When we’re in times like these, when your job is specifically to bring people joy, that’s a great job.”On September 2, though, Pauley announced some chilling news. Through her Twitter account, the former NCIS star revealed that she suffered a life-threatening stroke last year.“It’s 9/2. One year ago I had a massive stoke [sic],” Perrette wrote. “Before that I lost so many beloved family and friends …Yet still a survivor after this traumatic life I’ve been given so far.”“How many times do I cheat death?” Perrette asked in a video she included in the post, adding that she lost her dad and cousin before the medical event.

“I’ve been through a lot in the last two years — things that are harder than having a stroke,” she said. “But I’m still here and I’m so grateful. And thank you, those of you who are my friends. Thank you. God bless you all. I’m still here.”New health updateIn an interview with Entertainment Now, the 53-year-old actress recalled the terrifying moment she had her stroke.“I woke up and had no feeling on the entire right side of my body,” Perrette said. “At first I thought I had just slept funny.

When I kept realizing the extent of the numbness; couldn’t feel my finger touching my face, couldn’t feel my face being touched by my finger, couldn’t feel my laptop sitting on my lap, no feeling at all on the right hand side — I could have burned myself or cut my finger off and wouldn’t have known — I called my doctor and he said, ‘GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM IMMEDIATELY.’”At first, she was hesitant of following the doctor’s advice. The former NCIS star wanted to speak to her therapist – who also is a neurologist – first. But the doctor told her to head straight for the ER.“Walked into the ER and said, ‘Hey, I can’t feel the right hand side of my body and…’ BAM! OMG! I was on a gurney with a million things stuck in my arms and a bunch of medical people rushing me somewhere,” Perrette recalled. “They know how serious a stroke is and how immediate care is imperative.”

Today, one year later, Pauley Perrette is gladly doing very well. Speaking to People, she wants to raise awareness about strokes, and how they can happen to anyone, no matter what age.“I am doing great and am super healthy now,” Perrette told the outlet. “I want to thank everyone for their concern and take this opportunity to really plead for everyone to educate themselves on the signs of a stroke and the importance of getting medical help immediately.”
“Also that you can have a stroke AT ANY AGE, which I did not know. Teenagers can have a stroke,” she added.Pauley Perettes’ dark love lifePauley had a strong fanbase while starring as forensic scientist Abby Sciutto on NCIS. She has maintained that fanbase with new projects, but the actress has maintained a strict private life outside the spotlight. In 2000, Perrette wed musician Coyote Shivers. The couple’s union lasted until 2004, before they finalized their divorce. As per reports, their divorce wasn’t a simply affair at all. In fact, even their marriage turned dark in 2004. Perrette went even as far as taking out formal restraining orders against her husband, claiming that Shivers stalked her.“

I have a permanent restraining order, but those can only do so much,” she said in a 2018 interview with 48 Hours, as quoted by People.“The biggest problem we have right now is that the stalking laws have not been updated since the internet,” she adde“That is just ridiculous because a lot of stalkers use the internet, that’s their main tool. There’s a lot we have to get changed but especially internet stalking laws.”A couple of years after the split from Shivers, Pauley dated cameraman Michael Bosman. The two got engaged, but they never married.“I don’t have to have a boyfriend”Pauley also got engaged to former British Royal Marine Thomas Arklie. They were to tie the knot, though decided to not get married until California’s Proposition 8 – eliminating the right of same-sex couples to marry – was abolished. It’s not clear why or when the couple split. However, reports suggest they went separate ways in late 2016 or early 2017.In 2018, in an interview with CBS, Pauley said she wasn’t looking for a partner anytime soon.“

Tried it. Not for me. Not at all,” the actress stated. “Probably the best decision I ever made in my life was the time that it took me to go like, ‘Wait a minute. This is silly. I don’t have to have a boyfriend, or a husband, or a girlfriend, or anything, you know?’”Perrette added: “I don’t need any of that. Like, I do whatever I want. I do whatever I want. And I think that is rad!”We are so glad that Pauley Perrette made it through after having the stroke. We wish her all the best in the future and hope to see her back on-screen soon. Please, share this article to show your support!

Being a celebrity seems tough. They face a lot of pressure all the time.

It’s normal for people to criticize their work sometimes. No one can please everyone all the time. Even famous people can have bad days.

But lately, it’s not just about their work. People are saying mean things about them personally online. We all hoped we would be better than that.

Unfortunately, the internet can be a place where people say mean things loudly for everyone to hear. Celebrities have to deal with this a lot.

Halle Berry, a famous actress, recently experienced this when she posted a beautiful picture of herself without any clothes on. She looked amazing in the photo, but not everyone had nice things to say.

Even though many people complimented her, some still said mean stuff.

One person wrote a mean comment about Halle Berry’s nude photo. They said she’s too old to be doing that and should be spending time with her grandkids instead. They also said aging gracefully is impossible.

Since Halle Berry has been famous for a long time, you might think she would ignore mean comments like this and not pay attention to them.

But Halle Berry didn’t let the mean comment get to her. Instead, she replied in a funny way that her fans loved.

She retweeted the photo and wrote, “Did you guys know the heart of a shrimp is located in its head?”

People on Twitter praised her response. One person said, “You’re living your best life, and that’s great.” Another said, “It’s silly to get mad because a beautiful woman is proud of her body.”

Even other celebrities like Audra McDonald thought Halle Berry’s reply was great. She said, “You won the internet today with this comeback.”

So, in the end, Halle Berry’s response to the mean comment got a lot more attention than the comment itself.

Celebrities often look perfect all the time, which can make us feel bad about ourselves. But then we remember they have stylists and makeup artists helping them. When we see paparazzi photos of them without makeup, we realize they’re just like us.

The cool thing is, lots of famous people share photos of themselves without makeup. It shows they’re normal people too. Recently, stars like Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman, and Jennifer Aniston have all posted makeup-free selfies.

Goldie Hawn thinks it’s hard to go against Hollywood’s beauty standards. She’s turning 75 this year and says it’s tough to show Hollywood you’re still sexy and important as you get older. But she’s not mad about it. She believes anger doesn’t help.

Even though she’s been in Hollywood for a long time, Goldie Hawn has always been seen as America’s sweetheart. Her blonde hair and natural beauty made her really popular.

She’s a grandma now, with six grandkids, and she was on the cover of People Magazine’s “Beautiful Issue.” Everyone agrees she still looks amazing.

Goldie Hawn says she learned to love herself more as she acted in more movies. She knows not everyone will think she’s beautiful, and that’s okay. “Some people might think you’re pretty, others might not,” she says. People share a lot of opinions, so you have to be strong. To do that, you need to know yourself and what you really think about yourself. That’s how she learned about her inner beauty.

A while ago, a paparazzi took a photo of her without makeup during the day. Some people said she looked different, while others liked that she didn’t seem to worry about it.

Goldie Hawn shares her skincare routine. She says sleep is super important, along with using good oils, exfoliating dead skin, and using sunscreen every day. She massages her creams into her face, too.

Her big secret? Olive oil! She takes two tablespoons before bed and massages it into her face. She told Pop Sugar this trick.

In another interview, she said she washes her face every night, massages it for three minutes, puts on creams, and goes to sleep. In the morning, she uses sunscreen and makes sure she’s hydrated. She eats lots of oil-based foods and smiles a lot, too.

I think Goldie Hawn looks great just the way she is. She has a wonderful life, a successful career, and a partner who loves her a lot. She and Kurt Russell have been together for almost 40 years, but they never got married. According to her, that’s what keeps their relationship strong.

They’ve been in some movies together, like “Overboard,” a romantic comedy. Recently, they were in “The Christmas Chronicles,” where they played Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus.

Makeup or no, Goldie Hawn is a real beauty. You just have to love her!

Lady Di was called the People’s Princess because she was caring and kind, and she loved regular people. She will always be remembered as the woman who made a big difference in Britain and the royal family.

She became famous when she got engaged to Prince Charles, who is Queen Elizabeth II’s oldest son and will be the next king of Britain. Once people knew about her, she was always the center of attention. Photographers followed her everywhere, and some people believe they caused her death.

The pictures below show a side of Diana that we don’t often see, and they remind us why we all admired her so much.

A ski trip with her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.
Unlike the rest of the engagement rings of the British royals, which are custom made, Diana’s 12-carat sapphire ring surrounded by 14 solitaire diamonds set in white gold was ordered from a Garrard jewelry collection catalog. Upon her passing, the ring went to Kate Middleton after William proposed to her with it.

On her wedding day, Diana was so excited and even confused that she called her future husband Philip Charles Arthur George instead of just Charles Philip.

According to her brother Charles Spencer, Diana had a hard time wearing the tiara at the beginning because it caused her headaches.

“In the evening we all went to a sort of semi-private party and she was there and I just remember she had a cracking headache also since she wasn’t used to wearing a tiara all morning,” he said in an interview.

As much as it was very special, Diana’s wedding dress caused her some trouble as the designers of the 25-foot train failed to take into an account how challenging it would be to walk in. When she entered the carriage, Lady Di’s dress slightly crushed and appeared wrinkled as a result.

When asked whether they were in love with each other shortly after their engagement, Charles replied, “Whatever ‘in love’ means,” to Diana’s “Of course.”

Diana is shown the sketches of her gown which were later torn apart in case someone wanted to get a peek.

The wedding gifts Charles and Diana received were perfectly unique. The Reagans, for one, gifted them a handcrafted porcelain centerpiece and an engraved Steuben glass bowl. They also received gloves made of 100-year-old silk and a timepiece set with diamonds and sapphires, among the rest.

Once the wedding took place, it was exposed with the public that Charles and Diana shared a common ancestor in Henry VII of the Tudors. They were 16th cousins once removed.

Charles and Diana are photographed on their honeymoon. A lip reader said at the time that during their conversation, the newlyweds said, “The honeymoon was the ideal time to catch up on sleep…”

This photograph was taken in 1980, before Diana became a Princess.

Fans have been left concerned over Simon Cowell’s appearance in a cosy family photograph. Simon Cowell was cosied up to fiancée Lauren Silverman – after alarming fans with his appearance earlier this year.

The 62-year-old was with Lauren, 45, and Eric, 8, in the snap. Simon and Lauren are due to wed in a ceremony later this year.On the wedding, Simon said: “I’ve kind of felt myself engaged for a long time, if I’m really being honest with you. Lockdown and Covid was probably make or break for many relationships. We were in the same house for over a year and I thought, ‘Well, actually, we get on really, really well’.

And for Eric, as he gets older, he will be asked more and more about his parents, and I thought it was the right thing to do for him. ”Speaking about his weight loss, he said: “The most dramatic period was the first month where most of the weight comes off and you look at yourself and think ‘wow’.

All I do is avoid just red meat – white meat is fine – and I eat loads of vegetables, salads and drink this great beer. If you’re on a diet you have to keep the food sensible, but it’s got to be interesting and tasty, then the diet’s surprisingly easy.

”Simon sparked concern from fans as he appeared on the first episode of Britain’s Got Talent in April. Viewers of the show were concerned the star was “seriously not a well man”. @traz_mac wrote: “Simon looks ill #britainsgottalent.” @colin84983253 commented: “Simon cowell with blood blistered fingers there this fell a seriously not a well man.”

Posing in a fiery red skirt and a sequin-speckled tuxedo top that perfectly matches his scarlet-colored hair, 16-year-old Korben White blew up the internet with the billowing ballgown he wore to his high school prom.

After a viral post made by his mom Nina Green, that shows her teenaged son primed and primped for prom, fervent disciples of the woke movement praised his flowing frock while others played the shame game, saying it demonstrates the “failure” of a parent “in encouraging this sort of thing.”When Korben White was only 12, he told his mother Nina Green “he wanted to go to his school prom in a gown.”In 2022, only four years after his declaration of intent, the teen–a “sassy” young drag queen who goes by the name Miss Frou Frou–made it happen.Speaking with the BBC, Green explains her son’s inspiration. “He wanted to go as himself, while expressing his feminine side–with a tuxedo on the top and a dress at the bottom, very much influenced by [American actor] Billy Porter.” She continued, “He wanted to be Korben…but in a dress.”And when he stepped out of the car in the sparkly red outfit paired with a white shirt and a giant red bow, Korben’s big reveal was applauded by both staff and students at Archbishop Sancroft High School in Harleston, Norfolk. “As soon as he got out of the car, everyone just cheered and I was crying, some of the teachers were crying, because he was being who he wanted to be,” the proud mom said of Korben.

“Everyone has been very supportive, and his year group has been incredible. If you let your child be who they are then you’ll get nothing but the best out of them. ”Her son’s biggest champion, Green continued her massive show of support with a tweet on July 1.Paired with a few photos of Korben in the spectacular outfit, Green writes, “At age 12 my son announced he wanted to go to his school prom in a gown. Four years later we made it happen. I’m so incredibly proud of him for being true to himself & the reception he got from his whole school was incredible.”Her post gained a lot of momentum with millions of users around the world sharing commenting, and complimenting the handsome young man. It even reached Michelle Visage, a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race, who said, “You are an amazing beautiful mom and your child is a STAR.”

Korben said it was “very surreal” that his mother’s tweet captured the attention of Visage. “To me she is such an icon, a wonderful celebrity and I really admire her,” he said. Green wasn’t expecting that her show of support would “go crazy,” and said she only wanted to show her son “living his best life,” which made other parents look for her advice.

Some users shared photos and stories of their own gender-bending children. One writes, “I worry for my son, he would really love to do something like this at prom but he would definitely not have the support of all the students! So sad that we still have homophobia even now. Well done to you, your son and his school !”A second shares, “I am so happy for your son he looked absolutely amazing!!!My son is trans, after 3yrs of transphobic bullying in Jan b4 GCSEs [General Certificate of Secondary Education offered in parts of the UK] I had to take him out of school for his mental health. He was always going to prom in a tux and he was deprived of the chance .” A third simply writes, “Absolutely stunning! My daughter wore a suit to hers!”

Meanwhile, the positivity was met a string of other comments, which serve as a reminder that not everyone is on the same social path. One writes, “There is very little hope for civilization,” and a second shares, “…Vile, Woke & a failure as a parent in encouraging this sort of thing. A 12 year old boy should be playing football and learning to be a man. But, sadly people now a days virtue signal, like what you’re doing with this tweet, and ruin their kids for life. Shame.

”Another netizen says the support for Green’s post is troubling. “There is absolutely nothing natural about a ‘boy’ dressing like a ‘girl’–the support shows just how screwed up our world is.” And one cyber fan goes so far as to suggests the world is lacking logic, “We live in a world where children should no longer pretend to be Indians but men should pretend to be women. Utopian. ”Yet, a steadfast warrior of support, Green wasn’t willing to surrender to the online hate.

The day after the internet-exploding tweet, Green accompanied her son to London Pride and shared a sweet photo of the two. One cyber user commented, “My boy did too, couldn’t be prouder, he’s also at London Pride today aged 16 it’s fabulous love and to you and yours,” and a second shared, “you both look amazing xx”A third attacks the mom, writing, “Your son doesn’t look like a man anymore, some kind of fa****”Green, who comments on Twitter that she ignores the negativity, says she hopes other children and parents will find encouragement through the relationship she shares with Korben.“I really hope it will help others be more accepting, let proud parents feel they are not alone, and that they can celebrate their children, and for young people to know there is a network there if they need it.” She continued, “You need to accept your children for who they are.

”Korben Green certainly is a brave young man for expressing himself the way he does! And he’s very fortunate to have such a supportive mom, who shuts out the noise and continues parenting him in the best way she knows. What do you think of teens attending prom in outfits that don’t represent their genders assigned at birth? Please share this story and let’s see what others have to say!

Claire’s story, from the perspective of a well-intentioned mother-of-the-groom, turned into a painful misunderstanding on what was meant to be a joyful occasion. Intent on being a supportive mother, Claire wanted to make her son Mark’s wedding perfect, particularly as she was financially contributing to the event. Her attempt to influence the choice of the bride’s dress, although motivated by a desire to help, crossed boundaries, leading to tension with Alice, the bride.

The conflict escalated when Claire chose her own dress for the wedding. Unknowingly, she selected a design that closely resembled Alice’s dream wedding dress, only in a different color. This decision, though unintended to cause harm, was perceived by Alice as an attempt by Claire to overshadow her.

The wedding day confrontation, filled with tears and accusations in the bride’s dressing room, highlights the delicate dynamics between family members during such significant events.

In this scenario, Claire’s actions, although not malicious, were misguided. The key issue was a lack of communication and respect for Alice’s autonomy in her wedding decisions. The situation serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of stepping back and allowing the couple to shape their own special day, even if one is contributing financially.

It underscores that, in weddings, the feelings and preferences of the couple, especially the bride, should be prioritized to ensure the day remains a celebration of their love, rather than a battleground for familial influences.

Meg Ryan reappeared in public after a six-month absence to support Michael J. Fox ahead of the release of his new documentary on Parkinson’s disease. The 61-year-old actress, known for her role in “Sleepless in Seattle,” has intentionally stepped back from the public eye in recent years. Ryan attended a screening of Fox’s upcoming production, “STILL: A Michael J. Fox Movie,” where they appeared happy together. However, fans quickly commented on Ryan’s new look, describing it as “unrecognizable” and sparking rumors of plastic surgery, despite her past denials.

Critics online expressed less than favorable opinions about Meg Ryan’s appearance, reigniting a debate she has addressed before. Some Twitter users criticized her supposed use of plastic surgery, while others urged women to avoid procedures like Botox and fillers. Ryan has previously stated that she pays little attention to negative opinions about her appearance, addressing rumors of plastic surgery in a 2015 interview with Porter Magazine.

Despite the online chatter, Ryan seemed to be in good spirits at the screening held at the Alice Tully Hall in the Lincoln Center, New York. She posed for pictures with celebrities like Bill Murray and Elvis Costello on Michael J. Fox’s significant night. Fox, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease at 29, is releasing a documentary focusing on his life over the three decades since his diagnosis.

In a recent emotional interview, Fox discussed the challenges of living with Parkinson’s, acknowledging that it was getting tougher. He also shared details about spinal surgery after the discovery of a benign tumor that affected his ability to walk. Fox emphasized that people don’t die from Parkinson’s but with it, and he candidly spoke about his own mortality.

When Gerald McRaney met actress Delta Burke, he knew he wanted to ask her out. But he was also acutely aware of his competition because of so many men being interested in her.

He recalls the time he asked her out, saying, “I wasn’t going to let her get away. I already had competition. There were people asking her out on dates, and I was going to move in right away.”

It was an immediate connection and McRaney knew she was the girl for him. On their second date, he asked her to marry him. But it was two years later in 1989 that the couple made things official – they tied the knot on May 28.

While it was not as fast as McRaney would have wanted, he was happy that he had got the girl of his dreams!

While it was Burke’s first marriage, this was McRaney’s third time! But this time, he was determined to make it last.

While the couple was madly in love, there were some people who thought their marriage wasn’t a good idea. Namely, some of McRaney’s friends warned him against him. But he dismissed all those reasons every single time. He remembers saying, “Why not? They’re the only people who understand this insanity. And she does. If I’m on location, and I don’t call her until 2 o’clock in the morning, no big deal. She knows.”

Since both of them worked in the entertainment industry, they knew what each other dealt with. They could hence offer advice and help to one another about any issues they might encounter.

They are also one another’s biggest supporters when they achieve something. When McRaney won a Primetime Emmy award for his performance in “This Is Us,” Burke happened to be his biggest cheerleader. She stood in the audience, with tears in her eyes, cheering on her beloved husband.

McRaney said in his years as an actor, he has gotten a lot of feedback but Burke is who he takes seriously. If she tells him a performance is good or needs work; he knows shes being honest.

It was in 1998 that the foundation of their marriage was tested. Burke lost her grandmother, and soon after her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was also on a hiatus from her acting career after she had a falling out with her show producers on “Designing Women.”

Fans started to notice that the actress was gaining weight while she appeared on the show. It turned out she had been struggling with hypoglycemia which caused an increase in her weight.

She constantly battled with her weight. The ineffective treatment of hypoglycemia combined with dieting eventually caused type 2 diabetes. She had a hard time even getting a diagnosis, going from doctor to doctor. Burke recalls, “I was on the road a lot. I was tired. My body didn’t feel right. I knew something was wrong, but nobody could tell me what,” Burke said. “They said I had Epstein-Barr. I knew it was something else. Then one doctor did the right tests and told me I had diabetes.”

She was also caring for her mother at the time and giving little attention to her own needs. While she was taking medication for her condition, her doctor warned her to improve her diet or she would be needing insulin therapy.

After a long struggle, her mother finally recovered. Burke applauded her husband for how he stood by her and made sure she took her medication and always took care of her. In 2004, McRaney fought lung cancer successfully as well.

She uses insulin now and credits McRaney for helping take care of her, including helping out with insulin shots. She said, “He loved me when I got as big as a house… He has loved me through my up times and my down times. He still thinks my body looks great, and I can certifiably tell you it does not!”

Delta Burke currently has no plans of returning to acting. Her husband McRaney doesn’t think she will return to acting either but also added that he would love to have the opportunity to work with her again!

While McRaney does not intend on retiring, the couple has bought a home in central Florida and plan on moving there soon. They have no children together but spent their life raising McRaney’s three kids from a previous marriage.
