Sharon Osbourne has gone on record as stating that she skips food three days a week, only days after fans expressed concern over her look during a recent interview.
The 70-year-old was fairly open regarding her weight-loss journey earlier this year, confirming that she’d lost close to 30lbs after taking Ozempic. Her appearance then sparked a discussion as she was interviewed by Piers Morgan on TalkTV last week.
According to the Daily Mirror, she said a few months back: “In my life, the heaviest I was 230 pounds and I’m now under a hundred. And I want to maintain at about 105 because I’m too skinny. But I’m trying to have a healthy balance.”
During her aforementioned TalkTV interview last week, Sharon, alongside husband Ozzy and the pair’s children, Kelly and Jack, were interviewed by Piers Morgan and discussed a number of different topics, though it was perhaps Sharon’s rake-thin look that generated the most attention.
“I didn’t want to go this thin,” Sharon told Piers. “But it just happened. I’ll probably put it all on again soon!”
Yet no sooner had the clip of the Osbournes on TalkTV made it to the internet, did people quickly begin to comment on Sharon’s seemingly frail new look.
One Twitter user said the former X-Factor judge “looked like a different person”. Another commented that she had become “too skinny”.
A third reflected: “They all look sick like this. Erika Jayne Kyle etc. They all have dysmorphia and need a good psychiatrist.”
Suffice to say that there are a good many fans out there worried that Sharon’s attempts to lose weight might have gone a bit too far.
Surely, then, their concerns will hardly have been put to bed by the TV personality’s admission that she goes without food as often as three days a week.
Speaking on The Osbournes Podcast alongside her children, son Jack and daughter Kelly, Sharon discussed the concept that people would “descend into chaos” if they were forced to go without food for nine consecutive meals.
“If you have something that someone wants, they’ll kill you for it,” Jack asserted. “You know how far away we are as a society from complete and utter breakdowns? Nine meals.
“When you break it down, you are nine meals away from complete and utter breakdown. That’s three days of breakfast, lunch and dinner. That goes away for people, they go three days without eating, they will murder each other, their neighbors, everything.”
It was then that Sharon said: “God, I do that every week. At least three days without eating.”
The Osbourne’s guest for the podcast episode, Jason Kennedy, interjected: “That’s called intermittent fasting.”
