She’s delivered some of the most powerful performances the entertainment world has ever seen and Britain’s Got Talent star Susan Boyle has done it again.
The 58-year-old is set to mark a decade since her original audition on the popular reality show by releasing a new album next week. In the meantime, she’s treated fans to a haunting rendition of ‘Stand by Me’.
The iconic track – which will feature on Susan’s new album Ten – was originally released by Ben E. King in the ‘60s and has been covered by everyone from John Lennon to Seal and Tracy Chapman since.
It also featured on the soundtrack of the 1986 film of the same name but Susan’s performance could be the most emotional yet. Taking to social media, the ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ songstress shared a special music video of her new recording of the song.
The clip begins with the Scottish star wearing a glittery frock and singing beautifully into a microphone as she has done so many times before. It also features a young girl watching singers perform on an old television while her mother sleeps.
As the song progresses, viewers find out that the little girl’s dreams of becoming a star come true when her mother takes her to the theatre. It’s eventually implied that the small girl grows up to be Susan.
