Swift made two $50,000 donations on Friday to the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, who was tragically killed in Wednesday’s mass shooting
Taylor Swift has donated $100,000 to the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, the mother of two who was killed during Wednesday’s mass shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade.
On Friday, Swift, 34, made two separate $50,000 donations to the GoFundMe page that has been set up to help Lopez-Galvan’s family following her death.
“Sending my deepest sympathies and condolences in the wake of your devastating loss. With love, Taylor Swift,” wrote the singer in the ‘Words of Support’ section on the page, which as of Friday morning had received donations totaling over $180,000.
Lopez-Galvan, 43, was shot at the end of the Chiefs’ parade in Kansas City, Missouri. The radio DJ’s friends confirmed her death to The Kansas City Star, while her employer, KKFI 90.1 FM, also confirmed she was killed in the incident in a social media post this week. The Kansas City Star reported that Lopez-Galvan died during surgery after suffering a gunshot wound to her abdomen.
The bio on the GoFundMe page — titled the ‘Elizabeth Lopez-Galvan Memorial — describes Lopez-Galvan as “an amazing mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to so many.”
